Today’s DIY project is about making wedding hangers for Brides on their special day. I’m excited about how the hanger turned out and it was relatively easy to make. Just a few simple steps to decorate the wooden hanger itself, then bending of some wire to write out something cute in cursive!
I used a wooden hanger and broke off the bottom part of it. I picked up some twine from Michaels and used a hot glue gun to glue the string down as I wrapped it around the hanger. I bought two pink flowers and found some fake pearls/rhinestones at home, then glued them to the middle of each flower to give it some sparkle for about $4. Then I got some Jewelry wire that is lightweight, malleable and easy to work with for about $3.
Materials:
-wooden hanger
-hot glue gun
-jewelry wire (12 gauge x 3 yd.)
-twine
-two fake flowers/rhinestones or pearls
Directions:
1. Break off bottom part of hanger. Wrap twine around hanger while gluing it down each time.
2. After wrapping entire hanger, take rhinestones and pearls and hot glue to inside of the flowers. Then glue the flowers to the hanger.
3. Take the wire, straighten it out with your hands or using pliers to bend into cursive letters.
4. After writing the word in the wire (I wrote Bride), take excess wire and wrap it around each end of the hanger.
