Today’s gorgeous engagement session by Melissa Manzione Photography is filled with Chesapeake goodness! We absolutely adore the genuine love that Nick and Ashley share and are so excited to pass that happiness on to all of our readers! We’ll let Melissa take it from here:
“Nick and Ashley’s engagement session was fun, exciting and adventurous all rolled into a 2 hour span. We started at one of my favorite shooting locations which offers incredible waterfront scenery and a beautiful dry fluffy field of grass with the PERFECT light in the evening. I can’t get enough of that field – I would shoot every session there if I could!”
Continued: “When I arrived for the shoot Nick mentioned that he would love to take his work boat to a private island near his childhood home for a few photos. The island is a special place for Nick and Ashley – they hang out there on the 4th of July to watch the fireworks and hang out there with friends on the weekends. I was excited to shoot in a new location – and it surely didn’t disappoint! We arrived at the island a few minutes before sunset and the images that resulted were incredible. They even brought their pup Kipper along for the ride!
We hopped back in the boat to head back to the shore after the sun set and our shooing was complete and much to our surprise we were stuck. The tide had gone down quite a bit since we pulled into the sand and there we were… stuck on the beach. Nick tried to push us off with no luck so Ashley hopped in and started to push… but the boat still wouldn’t budge. I put down my camera and hopped in the water to help and finally the three of us were able to push the boat off the sandy beach. I think Nick and Ashley win the award for most adventurous engagement session to date!
I had such a great time with Nick and Ashley and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding next spring!”
