This one isn’t quite so funny, but it’s equally effective for showing cheapskates like me what a deal Southwest is compared to their competitors.
A few weeks back I snagged a round-trip ticket to Kansas City for $136, all fees included, so it’s not all gloom and doom out there in the airline world. Yes, prices must go higher to compensate for fuel increases, but demand is slumping badly and people are avoiding the hassle when they can, so that’s keeping things in check a little. The key is, when you see a bargain flight, you need to grab it immediately.
Regardless of where fares are, I know when I fly with these guys I’m not going to have anyone reaching into my pocket because I want to stay hydrated in the air, I need to check a suitcase, or I want to avoid the middle seat. The price is the price—done!
