“Some couples follow the “Golden Rule” of weddings; Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue. Other couples take that golden rule and bend it to show off their personalities. In this case, Something Brewed was center stage, as in home-brewed beer by the couple, at this cute and fun DIY California wedding!” – Skybox Event Productions
What is your favorite wedding day memory?
Our favorite wedding day memory was being able to see a lot of our extended family all in one place. We had people from all over the country and the world come celebrate our special day with us.
What did you DIY for your wedding?
We DIY’d almost all of our decor! I created the table numbers, signage, seating chart, guest book, cake stands, marquee letters, and our favorite was our home-brewed beer. We brewed our beer, “Something Brewed” a month and a half before the wedding, and created the bottle labels to share with all of our friends and family.
Something old, new, borrowed and blue?
My something old was my Great Aunt’s Engagement ring from the 1940’s. My something new was my dress, as a gift from my Grandmother. My borrowed and blue was my Grandma’s Sapphire pendant that I had sewn over my heart inside my dress.
Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?
My advice for brides that are currently in the planning process is to have a distinct vision for your day. Know what is most important to you and your fiancé, and focus on those specific decor items, or entertainment piece. – Crystal, the bride
