Ski goggles, they’re not just for eye protection anymore! A new product announced today in Utah at the Outdoor Retailer trade show, Zeal Optics unveiled what it’s calling an “industry-changing goggle” that has a camera built-in.
Between the eyes on the company’s to-be-released iON Goggle is a high-definition camera that captures videos and photos.
The camera captures 1080p HD video, audio, and 8-megapixel photos. It has a wide lens — 170-degree angle — and can be operated without removing your gloves via buttons on the goggle frame.
A rechargeable lithium-ion battery gives up to a six-hour run time. A micro-SD card slot provides storage for footage captured as you shred.
Zeal Optics’ iON Goggles will be $399 when they come to market in mid-2012.
