Here we are, only a few days away from Thanksgiving and that means it’s time to start crafting our holiday presents. Every year I make something special for each of my friends and family, which is easily 50+ gifts. Last year I made soaps, the year before I made lip balm, before that I’ve made candles, jewelry, scarves, note pads, and the list goes on. In thinking about what I was going to make this year, I looked over all my tutorials and tried to figure out what would be a good fit for my family. In doing this I realized that I’ve created and shared over 200 projects and that SO many of them would make great gifts; so today I’m sharing our Top 20 DIY’s that will make awesome gifts for giving! Even if you aren’t going to make all your christmas gifts this year, I hope to inspire you to make at least one or two. Curious what I’m making this year? You’ll have to read below to find out!
As with all our DIY tutorials, if you create one of our projects please send us a picture – We Love Seeing Your Creativity! If you use Instagram or Twitter please use the hashtag #SomethingTurquoiseDIY and it will show up on our Get Social page. Happy Crafting!
Mason Jar Cookie Gifts . These jars are only 12 ounces and make about 10 cookies so they are perfect for the baker on your list! Much cheaper than using large jars and I have to say the cookie recipe I created is just delicious! Add any color and kind of candy you would like for a personal, colorful touch!
Glitter Wine Stoppers . My fav! Totally easy, super cheap and there’s glitter; a great combo if you ask me. Buy a bag of corks and make 4 or 5 for all the wine lovers on your list.
Mason Jar Candles . A crowd favorite. Keep in mind that you can pour your own candles into anything; tea cups, wine glasses, coffee cups, small food jars – basically anything that won’t light on fire.
Honeymoon Beach Bag . Clearly this bag can be made for anyone and can be taken anywhere. Easy enough for the most inexperienced seamstress, giving this darling bag as a present is more than a good idea – it’s a great idea.
Bleach Bride Shirt . Use this bleach technique to quickly personalize any article of clothing. From words to designs, this project is quick and totally fun.
Glittered Glassware . If you haven’t tried this craft before, nows your chance. It’s easy, it’s fool-proof and they make killer presents. Best part is they are top-shelf dishwasher safe.
String Art . Here we are making table numbers but you can make a design like a heart or a snowman, or even someones initial. The steps are all the same and they are totally easy.
Seasoning Salt Favor . This is what I’m making for my family this year! It’s a delicious recipe and every time they use it they will remember how much I love them. Terrific on avocados, salad, eggs, chicken, vegetables and more. Instead of “Love is the Spice of Life”, mine will say “Family is the Spice of Life”.
Glitter Tin Candles . These are SO pretty and are the perfect size for gift giving. Any glitter loving gal would love to receive these as a gift.
No-sew Jewelry Pouch . This quick and easy project makes a terrific gift for any lady in your life. Since these beauties are made with real leather they will age wonderfully.
Wedding Ring Holder . The perfect gift for the newly engaged gal or anyone that has a rock on their finger! This quick and simple project will display the most important piece of jewelry a woman (or man) owns.
Giant Scrabble Tiles . Everyones favorite. With our free downloads you can easily personalize wood tiles with either a word sentiment or initials. Perfect decor for the rustic home.
Bath Bombs . Make these little cuties in bulk by using a mini-cupcake pan! They are super inexpensive and fun to make but they are definitely more fun to use!
Personalized Robes . The perfect gift for your grandma, mom, aunt, sister and best friend! Easily personalize with their initials and they’ll be charmed by your handmade gesture.
Lip-balm . Whether you’d like to make yours from scratch or just use a melt-and-pour recipe, giving handmade lip balms is perfect for the cold months of winter. After you make them yourself, you’ll never buy lip balm again!
Painted Stemless Wine Glasses . This project has endless possibilities – can you imagine a snowman or rudolf painted on the bottom of these glasses? You could even personalize a glass for everyone coming to christmas dinner!
Mocha Mix Favors . This seasonally popular favor is the perfect gift for giving. I share how to make a delightfully yummy mocha mix from scratch, which is great because no grown-up really wants hot chocolate.
Stiff Ribbon Bow Rings . So much fun! You can make these darling bow rings out of any ribbon that you have lying around! You can also paint them or add glitter to them. An awesome gift that is perfect for wearing to holiday cocktail parties!
We hope that this list has inspired you to make something special for someone you love this holiday season!
