On the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, tomorrow is Giving Tuesday—a global day dedicated to giving back started in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and U.N. Foundation .
As a new mom, I have become increasing headstrong about supporting foundations that help kids. As I catch myself obsessing through toy reviews, ordering gifts with a click on Amazon, and delicately wrapping an overabundance of presents for my little girl, I cannot help but think about the many kids who will go without this holiday season. That’s just not fair. It takes very little from each of us to minimize this sad truth – and I love sharing ways we can each make a small difference to help.
Our friends at Mommy Nearest are partnering with 92Y, Sprout San Francisco, and Build-A-Bear to host a clothing and toy drive at several locations around New York City. They will be accepting gently used clothes, toys and games, and all of the collected items will go to wonderful and deserving charity partners: Baby Buggy , Room to Grow , Project Night Night , Homeless Prenatal Program , and the Salvation Army .
