From the time we learned how to turn on the television we’ve seen our Disney princess counterparts being swept away in carriages and even by boat (shout out to my girl Ariel). It’s only natural that you plan a stellar ending to your dream day. Below we’ve linked back to some off our favorite getaways in Bayside Bride history. From a classic Porche and Rolls Royce to a military grade humvees and golf cart – you’re sure to get some “ride off into the sunset” inspiration of your own. Ditch that limo girl!
– PORSCHE PRIDE –
Matching your car to your lipstick… what could be a better accessory than a vintage Porsche? Even Prince Charming would be excited about riding away on this “white horse”!
– ROLLS ROYCE RIDE –
This one is positively timeless. A Rolls Royce, sleek as can be with a bow tie clad chauffeur up front is one of the most classy ways to wave adieu to your guests.
– WATERWAY ESCAPE –
For a true Annapolitan, nothing short of the sea will do. Power or sailboats provide the perfect nautical escape. Please do not attempt a water getaway from a landlocked venue… but if you do, let us know how it goes!
– TUGGING AWAY –
If you’re being married in a little white church maybe you’re looking for a little white boat to tug you away? There are so many different ways to leave your reception by water and a tug boat is just one of them! We’re still waiting to see if anyone is going to try stand up paddle boarding…
– A PIRATE’S LIFE –
Not quite up for the typical Annapolis getaway? That’s understandable. For the off beat brides out there perhaps a pirate ship will suit your fancy, mate! These Pirate Adventure boats can be rented for events, they’re not just for show at the inner harbor!
– COUNTRY CLUB CAR –
When we spotted a golf cart in this wedding by Shelby Leigh, we were just smitten! A little cart built just for two, it’s like this was made for country club and golf course weddings.
– MILITARY MATRIMONY –
This one is for all of the military couples out there. I didn’t know you were allowed to just take these babies for a spin, but if you can manage to snag a hummer for your wedding day there’s no way anyone can stop you once you’re en route to the honeymoon!
– CINDERELLA CARRIAGE RIDE –
Hopeless romantics, this one is for you! Cinderella had her carriage ride and now it’s your turn! This getaway is perfect for short distance rides to a hotel down the road. A leisurely carriage ride and a glass of your favorite red wine is the perfect way to end your fairytale night.
– VESPA GETAWAY –
I’m not entirely clear on how well this would work logistically with a wedding dress, but how charming would it be if you could manage to ride off on a Vespa? This is another getaway that is great for brides being married Downtown who just need a short lift back to the hotel.
– HOMESTYLE HOT ROD –
But of course, we would be remiss to not give a shout out to old faithful – your car! That little guy has been with you through it all, the first date, meeting the parents, your engagement. He might feel left out if you didn’t include him on the most important day of your life. Plus, you’re friends won’t be able to help themselves from decorating it!
