“Hana & Eric’s wedding was an absolutely beautiful, well thought out masterpiece of matrimony. Their fun loving and beautiful bridal party were a delight to be around all day. Beautiful family and friends gathered at the Barn at Boyden Farm to enjoy a full day of sunshine, lawn games, and excellent catering by The Skinny Pancake. We got to spend one incredible golden hour with these two love birds and their bridal party making for some excellent portrait photos – some of our favorite so far! Limo rides, libations, nostalgic 90?s hits and an abundance of pretty and intricate details helped paint this perfectly executed fun loving day. Congrats Hana & Eric!” – Ampersand Wedding Photography
“There are so many! The moment with my Dad before we walked down the aisle was like the calm before the storm, soaking up the fun with all of my closest friends in the limo (complete with a dance playlist and tequila shots) had me smiling from ear to ear, but above all the first dance with my best friend (and now husband!) surrounded by the smiling faces of the people I love most was honestly surreal and something I’ll never forget…
..We did tons of things ourselves in order to keep costs as low as possible. I covered large mason jars with lace to make hanging lanterns, my mom cut and hemmed all of our linen and burlap table runners, Eric and I spent a Saturday (with burnt fingers and on a total sugar high) making salted caramel to can for our favors, and we collected wine bottles and random vintage bottles as a decoration around the edge of the barn. My maid of honor also helped me make custom chalkboard signs which ended up being one of my favorite projects! We spent the year checking out local thrift shops for old picture frames that we painted a light blue and covered the glass in chalkboard paint so that we could use chalkboard markers to create the sign. They came out beautifully and really acted as statement pieces that were setup throughout the entire day and venue…
..Of course! My something old was my Nana’s lace handkerchief that I wrapped around my bouquet, something new was my dress, and something blue was my garter. I forgot until the last minute that I needed something borrowed so one of my bridesmaids let me wear her tiny knot ring (that I had given them all the night before) for the day!
Enjoy it ALL! I know it’s SO hard not to stress out and sometimes the planning seems never ending, but from the other side I can honestly say I miss (some) parts of it. Staying organized really helped me since I didn’t use a wedding planner. It was helpful to look at books and websites to get rough estimates of timelines for when big deadlines needed to be met. Also, if you’re not using a wedding planner, be sure to delegate day-of duties that could easily be overlooked (keeping track of your bouquet, bringing cards and gifts home, packing up some dinner and cake for you to bring home since its so hard to find time to eat, handing out tips, etc.) so that you’re not trying to deal with issues when you should be enjoying your day.” – Hana, the bride
