Barn Wedding at The Barn at Chestnut Springs
I am swooning over this beautiful barn wedding at one of my favorite Tennessee barn venues, The Barn at Chestnut Springs ! This Smoky Mountain wedding perfectly combines the rustic outdoors with elegance and glamour. Veronica’s ruffled wedding dress is so modern and feminine yet it is somehow so perfect against the rugged wood of the barn and outdoor fall ceremony. Miranda Lawson Photography captured the beauty of the couple’s special day perfectly. Despite the threatening skies, the rain held off and the dark clouds became the perfect contrast for all the bright floral arrangements!

How they met & the proposal:
Adam and I met at a local sandwich shop that he used to work at. We were friends for a couple years. I had to travel to Florida for a few months for business and we started texting each other. As soon as I got back from my trip, I dropped my suit cases off at home and we went on our first date. We have been together everyday since then. Adam loves anime shows and introduced me to them. My favorite character is a little pink guy named Haro. When Adam proposed, he gave me a plush toy of Haro holding my engagement ring. It was the sweetest.
What inspired the theme of your wedding:
I grew up and lived in Florida for most of my life. I moved to Tennessee about six years ago. The very popular “country chic” look, although beautiful, is not my style. I wanted to have a wedding that showcased the beauty of Tennessee, but also had a bold modern flair to incorporate my style. I’m a graphic designer and I love bold prints and bright colors and wanted my wedding to contain artistic, personalized aspects that Adam and I made together. I designed my own save the date cards and invitation suite. Adam and my dad cut wood planks to make our table numbers and cupcake stands. We also made a large sparkly heart to hang and glittered feather garland. My dad and a family friend made the beautiful arbor and altar table for our ceremony.
Favorite part of our wedding day:
I have so many favorite parts of our wedding. My first memory is walking into the barn on the morning of our wedding day and seeing how beautiful everything was starting to look. My family and friends are spread out between the north east as well as Florida so it was also so special to me to have all of my favorite people together in one place.
I think my most favorite part of our wedding day was our first look session. Adam and I have been together everyday for 2 years, but we spent the day and night before our wedding apart. I was so excited to see him all dressed up and to show him my dress that I had been hiding from him for almost a year! It was also so nice to just have a few moments where we could be alone, calm each others nerves, and just enjoy what the day was about.
What advice would you give other brides?
We were engaged for 17 months. When we first became engaged, I couldn’t wait to get married. When we finally set a date, it seemed so far away, but I am glad we had so much time. I was able to slowly work on my vision for my wedding day. I was also able to book my vendors early and attend many bridal shows to gain inspiration. I also scored many pieces of my decor on clearance in after season sales. My advice would be to savor the moments of your engagement.
