“There is something so magical about small, intimate weddings and Holly & Dan’s wedding was no exception. Surrounded by their closest friends and families, they celebrated their love for each other in a touching ceremony that had nearly every attendee (myself included!) in tears. To make their wedding extra special, Holly incorporated several unique DIY elements that added to the charm and beauty of their day.” – Jennifer Halen Fine Art Photography
“One of my favorite memories was seeing Dan for the first time. We’ve stared at each others face everyday for the past 10 years but there’s something indescribable about looking at the man who is about to be your husband. It was extremely emotional and gave us a few moments to ourselves to take in the magnitude of the day. It was really special…
..I DIY-ed pretty much everything. I love being artistic and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. After all the big decisions were made I finally got to do the fun stuff! Although I had to remind myself on a daily basis that DIY is NOT just for Martha Stewart. I started with the jalapeño jelly as my favors (thanks for the recipe mom) because I wanted our guests to take home a taste of the Southwest. I ordered my flowers from a shop on Etsy. I decided to go the “dried” route and would highly recommend it. I used any and all wedding web sites for artistic inspiration and things were finally coming together! A fun twist was incorporating turquoise throughout the wedding and I ended up investing in some great pieces for my dress and wedding jewelry. But the coolest part is that it all ties back to the ring on my finger. Dan had my ring made by Will McNabb in Flagstaff, Arizona and turquoise and blue opal were incorporated into the band and at that point, I knew I wanted the stone and color as part of our wedding…
..Don’t over spend. Although a wedding is important it’s not worth going into debt over. Being a wife is way more important than being a bride.” – Holly, the bride
