Your honeymoon destination should be a place that you’ll want to go back to again and again. For Shirley Pearson and her husband, choosing to go to Aruba on their honeymoon has been one of their best experiences that they have already made a trip back together with their family.
Aruba is unique from most other Caribbean islands. The temperatures are usually hot, but the nice breeze makes it the most comfortable climate. The small island is located south of the Atlantic hurricane zone, so hurricanes, storms and inclement weather are rare! Shirley said that the only weather they encountered there was a refreshing, daily 10-minute rain.
The Pearson’s said you cannot go to Aruba without eating at Le Petite Café, their favorite place they ate at both trips. “It was a neat experience because you get to choose your course (a wide selection of Caribbean seafoods, pastas, and the best filet mignon) then cook it at your table on a hot stone,” they said.
It wasn’t just the beautiful scenery, relaxing environment, and fun nature activities that made the couple fall in love with the island. “All the people there, from the workers at the hotel to the locals at the flea markets were the most friendly and helpful people you’ll ever meet,” Shirley said. They enjoyed shopping and interacting with tourists and locals at the markets along the streets. “Buying our food from the markets was a little pricey, but most definitely worth it for the taste and uniqueness” Shirley said.
Aruba makes for a great honeymoon destination especially for couples who just want to experience a new culture together without feeling like tourists. You can be assured that you will feel welcomed by the locals as you experience their food and shopping, and enjoy the islands beauty.
