One of my favorite jobs as a bridal fashion stylist is helping our clients pick perfect accessories for their wedding day. Most times we work within a budget, but as we mentioned in last Sunday’s New York Times , every now and then we have a bride who is looking to invest in her accessories . And for that bride, there is Judith Leiber’s new wedding clutch collection …
Beginning at $995, the luxury accessory designer’s first bridal collection includes an assorted mix of taffeta and duchesse satin styles in shades of white, ivory and blush, often lined in a soft shade of “something blue.” But for the bolder fans of Leiber’s blingalicious craft, there are signature minaudières in wedding-themed bouquet and cake shapes.
While we’d definitely recommend some of the more versatile styles for our clients, the jeweled minaudièrescan certainly become a cherished heirloom. Below, a few Merci New York picked favorites from the collection…
“Enchanted” – $1,495. Pleated satin handbag with lace overlay. Features a baguette station chain and top closure.
“Fleurs” – $3,495. Rounded rectangle minaudière with a floral pattern composed of large teardrop crystals. Top snap closure, 19″ chain.
“Madeleine” – $2,995. Python envelope clutch with enamel and crystal floral closure. 19″ chain options.
