New York Public Library Campaign with Christian Oth: The Concept

A few months ago, I was approached by the legendary photographer Christian Oth , who was putting together a team for a daunting, yet exciting project… an updated rendition of his iconic image for the New York Public Library {below}.
The Library had been using this enchanting image for quite some time. It was a photo known throughout the toniest social circles of New York. It was a photo that inspired countless brides {Carrie Bradshaw included} to walk the Library’s steps and wed inside the historical building. It was a photo – quite honestly – that was going to be creatively intimidating to reinvent.
Fortunately, the team that Christian tasked with the project was top notch, and in the weeks that followed, a truly magical concept developed.
New York Public Library Campaign with Christian Oth: The Concept Several New York wedding luminaries came on board. Matthew Robbins designed the most beautiful flowers and decor. Gabriella New York Bridal Salon lent absolutely gorgeous gowns from Claire Pettibone, Reem Acra and Douglas Hannant. The hair and makeup team at Paul Labrecque worked their bridal beauty magic. And our wardrobe repertoire was further enhanced by accessories from Jannie Baltzer and Preston and Olivia , not to mention stunning fine jewelry pieces from Diamond in the Rough and Jupiter Jewelry . Pair all this with Christian Oth’s photography expertise, and in a word, it was magical.
As a bridal fashion stylist , I’m thrilled to see the wedding market pick up the patterns of the fashion industry… {Case in point: Bridal Market has begun to mimic New York Fashion Week – and it’s a fabulous thing}. Likewise, this collaborative campaign for the New York Public Library was produced with the same luxurious attention to detail as an editorial for VOGUE. We cannot wait to share all the behind the scenes details with you… and hope you will stay tuned to see more.
