Real NYC Engagement Session | Ann + Ben

Phew! Talk about seeing the sites of the city! As true New Yorkers, it seems Ann and Ben had an ambitious agenda of covering the lion’s share of NYC landmarks in their engagement shoot with photographer Ben Godkin . From Central Park to the Brooklyn Bridge {and every subway stop in between}, they saw it all, and looked tres-fabulous in the process. Take a peek and check off the sites as you seem them! How did you meet? We worked at the same advertising agency and had mutual friends from Texas here in New York. We started to hang out outside of work and quickly became close friends.
What do you think will be unique about your wedding? We hope that it’ll be the most fun wedding our guests will ever attend. We want everyone to have a blast and pretty much drink and dance their asses off.
What will guests be dancing to at your wedding? We have slightly different tastes in music. We actually don’t even have a song, so we’ll have to figure that one out for the wedding. I like country, he likes “dirty south” rap songs… I guess there’s no denying though that we’re originally from Texas.
What do you think is most special about you as a couple? We always joke about how we are the same person…mostly in the way we think. For example, when we are trying to figure out where to eat, we almost always think of the same thing. I’m sure other couples feel their connection to each other is unique, but we’re pretty certain that ours is truly special.
What is your favorite restaurant in New York? That’s hard to nail down, as we love to eat. Cafe Habana is always a good one, Shake Shack rocks, Prune is also amazing and Ippudo (in St Marks) is awesome as well.

About the Photographer {Ben Godkin}: I had never been to New York before this trip. I grew up in a small town in Texas, so it was an amazing experience to see the big city. I went to school for Fine Art Photography at Texas State so being in New York surrounded by all the amazing art and history was very inspiring. After school, I started my own wedding photography business and it quickly became a full-time job. I absolutely love being able to follow my passion for photography and share it with all the wonderful couples that let me into their lives to document the most important moments in their lives together.
