“This couple is the definition of fun, quirky, + hip. They are a great mix of the retro vintage fanatics and then they are classy and elegant. So with them you get the best of both worlds, and personalities to match. These two love birds met through mutual friends (kind of) Ariel is friends with Corey’s cousin Gill. After many years of friendship between Ariel and Gill and many invites for Corey to come hangout with the gang, Corey finally decided to hangout with their gang back in 2012. For these two it was meant to be from the start and a year later, Ariel has a ring on her finger to prove it!
For their engagement session they wanted a location that would be able to give them many different backdrop options. Per the request, I think we nailed it on the head with this one we shot in the woods and that’s where we found an old cottage as well that we took advantage of. We also shot at these two really cool, old rustic barns that they fell in love with. Then we headed over to the gorgeous mansion that gave them that elegant feel to represent their classy side. All in all it was a great day filled with lots of love and excitement for what’s ahead in the near future.” – Sheri of Swanky Fine Art Weddings
“We found our photographer pretty easily. My soon to be husband has assisted her as a second shooter for many Michigan weddings in the past few years, because of that we know she is hardworking, trustworthy and has great creative vision! We are very happy and so blessed to be able to have her capture all the special moments on our wedding day!
..I love crafting. I also love the idea of having a beautiful wedding and not losing an arm and a leg in the process! So our guests will definitely be seeing quite a bit of DIY decor. From the chair bows at the ceremony to the centerpieces at the reception I’m looking to put my own spin on “rustic beauty” as I’ve decided to call it. We chose a warehouse for our reception, complete with exposed brick and almost endless decorating possibilities in the space. Burlap and lace will be abundant with added touches of mint green and gold to make my vision come to life.
..It’s hard to pinpoint just one thing I’m looking forward to. The whole day overall is going to be a complete dream come true. To be able to marry the man of my dreams surrounded by friends and family is more than I could ask for. Throwing a party in Detroit afterwards to celebrate is just a plus!” – Ariel, the bride-to-be
