Roses are red, violets are blue, have we got some gorgeous hair styles for you! From up dos, braids, waves, and curls there are so many different options available to choose from! Every breathtaking bride and lovely bridesmaid knows that hair is a key component of the big day and wants to look her best while walking down the aisle, as we had talked about in our Hair and Makeup Myths piece featuring the fabulous Hair by Rochelle. Below is a lineup filled with a few of our favorite long hair styles. We hope these serve as the perfect inspiration for any blushing bride or budding bridesmaid!
Beautiful Braids
In 2012, we featured a fabulous Bridesmaid Fashion Shoot by Kate Ann Photography showcasing a few inspiring hair styles! This gorgeous and intricate braid created by Jewel Hair Design demonstrates sophisticated beauty and great attention to detail. Whether chunky and large or thin and simple, braids allow for some of your lovely locks to be pulled back from your face in order to highlight high cheekbones and big smiles. Long hair can be transformed by fishtail or French braiding techniques that will never go out of style.
Unique Up Dos
Our very own Natalie Franke compiled a few unique up dos for long haired ladies in the Layers of Lovely styled shoot. These amazing styles created by Behind the Veil can be perfectly paired with a sweetheart neckline and an even sweeter smile! Although every style includes some sort of bun, up dos can range from fun and fabulous chunky buns to stylish and sleek side buns and even to delicate and dreamy veiled buns. In order to make this look even more marvelous, get a layered hair cut that allows a few wisps of hair to lightly frame your face and turn an ordinary up do into an unforgettable new look.
Classy Curls
Although some styles are layered and complex, simplicity can pay off, especially when it comes to curls. Many brides choose to curl their hair before tying the knot, but sometimes grabbing a few bobby pins and pulling back a few carefully crafted curls can create a sophisticated and timeless look in almost no time. In a gorgeous bridal shoot from Natalie Franke Photography , Jessie’s special day is made even more memorable by the beautiful bridal look put together by Up Dos for I Dos . Side swept bangs enhance the classic look and allow attention to be brought to the strapless neckline and the few curled locks gathered at the nape of the neck. In addition, the bouncy curls that are pinned back frame both the feathery long veil and the bride’s stylish flowery earrings making this the perfect look for the perfect wedding.
Another example of this classic and tasteful look was crafted by Behind the Veil and captured by Carly Fuller Photography. Although most of the hair is curled into gorgeous flowing tresses, the few pinned back curls allow this look to elevate into bridal perfection. The bride is able to showcase her natural highlights in this lovely hairdo and beautifully highlight her strapless neckline. We especially love the shot of the bride hugging her sailor, which demonstrates that hair styles like these scream anchors away!
Peace, Love, and Flowers
In a photo shoot by Megan Noonan , braids, curls, and flowers come together in perfect harmony for Sasha’s unique Solomon’s Island wedding. Although it may seem daunting to feature multiple styles in one bridal look, Sasha pulls it off flawlessly and demonstrates elegance and poise on her special day. In a look created by Julia and Co. , flowing curls bring out her natural highlights and work seamlessly with a tiny braid that holds all of the flowers in place. Flowers provide an extra burst of color to a white wedding and Sasha uses the purple and ivory flowers in her bouquet to bring out the intricate flowery design in her long and flowing wedding dress. Pairing colorful flowers, braids, and curls can create an extraordinary look for any bride.
Free and Flowing
What says effortless beauty more than allowing your locks to flow freely? While some women dream of spending hours curling, straightening, braiding, and tying, others would much rather celebrate a special occasion with their tresses falling elegantly down their back. The first picture taken by Hudson Nichols Photography showcases the gorgeous handiwork of Allison Harper & Co. in the simple treatment of the bride’s luscious locks.
The second picture taken by Marcella Treybig Photography highlights the bouncy ringlets of the bride and allows attention to be brought to the intricate yet subtle pattern etched into her wedding dress. Both of these beautiful shots demonstrate how natural and simplistic styles can end up being the most graceful choice for your special day. Let the breeze flow through your hair and carry you to happily ever after as you celebrate eternal love on your wedding day, just make sure you have a stylist as talented as The Queen Bees !
