I’m a jaded New Yorker… I have a nasty little knack for thinking that I can find / discover / search out nearly everything in my own city… but I recently learned that’s just not the case. Or, maybe I have been living under a {baby-crazed, momma-to-be} rock. Anywho…
Last week I took a little trip down to lovely Charleston, South Carolina and perused the shops whilst my fam took long, sweaty two-hour walking tours around town. {This preggo stylist proudly chose shopping over schvitzing}. Desperate for a mani-pedi, I stumbled into a brand-spanking new boutique called Pink Dot Beauty Bar . Among their adorable accessories and cosmetics, the owners also sprinkled in an assortment of Deborah Lippman’s new Mermaid nail polishes. Apparently these sparkly little puppies had been right under my nose at Barney’s for weeks, but I needed some good ol’ southern hospitality to point out how special they were! They’re now my go-to summer polish… and I bet they might be yours, too!
So here’s the scoop: Nail guru Deborah Lippman introduced a hot collection of sparkling, glittery polishes to help release your inner Ariel… She started with her ever-popular Mermaid’s Dream hue {above right}, and built a spectrum of summery colors that hold the same dynamic shimmer, but work for nearly every skin tone… I opted for the blush myself, but can’t wait to stock up on cerulean, tangerine and lavender as well. I mean, hey… I might not be able to wear my pre-preggo bikini, but at least I can sit pretty at the beach knowing my little tootsies still look glam!
