Holiday & Winter Weddings | Dress for the Wedding

With the holidays upon us, it seems like there’s a rainbow of colors to decorate and celebrate with. I’ve been seeing some houses decked out for Christmas, Hanukkah, and all the celebrations of the season in lovely silvers, blues, golds, pinks, and even purples– they all look supremely festive.

However, there’s really no other time of year that one can completely get away with putting the classic colors of cranberry red and forest green together; so I wanted to feature this traditional color combination, with touches of white and gold, to take advantage of this great seasonal pairing.

This first look is for holiday wedding guests, and since there are so many holiday events to go to, I decided to show two dresses! Both of these dresses can easily do double duty at a holiday wedding or at a holiday party. They’re classically festive with green, gold, and a little bit of metallic bronze. They can also be accessorized †in many other ways to wear throughout the winter.

Red is a wonderful color for a bridesmaids’ dress any time of year, and especially from fall through until February. But this particular one-shoulder, cranberry red dress with a plaid tie for the groomsmen, suede shoes, cranberry beads, and a dark red bouquet? To me, that looks right at home at a winter December wedding.

These would make wonderful gifts for anyone, but I’ve chosen a few things that would be really sweet gifts for a couple just starting out and making memories. Here are 6 gifts and the traditions that can accompany them:

1. Champagne flutes are a must for New Years’ Eve toasts and celebrating special occasions together.  2.Having an ornament like this Waterford ornament to commemorate your first year as a married couple is a gift that will bring back happy memories each year. 3. When I was growing up, it always added to the excitement at dinner time when the holiday china came out. It gave my parents a way to remind me to be on my best behavior and to eat all the veggies on that pretty plate! Giving this to a couple is ‘s a great way to start a seasonal tradition in their  family, too! 4. Stationery with a gold motif is always wonderful to have on hand at this time of year for thank you notes.  5. A bright tray is so helpful for breakfast in bed, or bringing hot chocolate to the fire.  6. Pretty gold candlesticks a perfect for romantic dinners, and are a festive touch year round in any home!

Happy Holidays with joy and peace to all!
