With Bridal Market in full swing, it seems that the New York Magazine Weddings Event was so long ago {it wasn’t}. In fact, in Friday’s event recap , I mentioned this post, showcasing some some fab Spring tablescape trends from the city’s top designers. The photos are just too pretty to pass up…. and they share some gorgeous concurrent themes.

New York Magazine kicked off Bridal Market in high style this past Wednesday by gathering the industry’s top talents and over 100 vendors for their renowned Wedding Event. The Metropolitan Pavilion was filled to the brim with brides buzzing from booth to booth, talking all things wedding with famed faces such as Ron Ben Isreal and Mark Ingram, while also uncovering fresh discoveries from the chic, new talent that will grace the pages of the magazine’s Summer issue.
I had the pleasure of covering this not-to-be-missed event for Merci New York readers and am thrilled to share a few favorite finds. Here’s just a peek. 
As you can see, the vendors were as varied as they were fabulous. The New York Magazine Weddings Event was a perfect evening filled with fresh ideas, creative solutions and expert advice. Rice, birdseed and plain old bubbles are so passé. Savvy city brides looking to add a fashionista’s touch to their church-side dash can now enlist in a little French flair… Gorgeous scented bubbles – courtesy of one of the world’s most famous perfumers, of course.
For those unfamiliar, Francis Kurkdjian is the nose behind some of the world’s most recognizable fragrances {think Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier, which he dreamed up when he was only 25}. All of his recent creations are fresh and imaginative, but I’m just positively enamored by his latest: Les Bulles d’Agathe.
Love it. In fact, I cannot think of anything more romantic and pretty than a bride and groom exiting the church to the aroma of Kurkdjian’s creations… Plus the packaging is so impossibly chic that they double as gorgeous favors for oh-so-impressed guests.

I truly adore the chic decor and uptown panache of The Surrey . I had the pleasure of previewing the newly renovated hotel during a Net-a-Porter press event last month, and reminisced about its dove gray decor after running a post on Monique Lhuillier’s home similarly-hued home earlier this week… Simply stated, the hotel is gorgeous.
If you’re hosting an uptown wedding, it’s well worth considering this spot for your out-of-town guests. Take a look…

Ah Hermès, you’re just too cute. Granted, I’ve yet to get my hands on one of your Birkin bags, but I’ve long since fallen in love with your bangles and baubles {as an indulgent consolation prize, of course}. So with that said, I truly didn’t need another reason to love you {or crave more}. But then your darling Spring campaign fell right at my fingertips… and the artwork is just as whimsical and fun as the jewelry. And now, you’ve got me again.

Darling, right? Granted, I know you’re not about to wear these on your wedding day, but that’s not to say they won’t make {generous} gifts… or be the perfect accompaniment to your {honeymoon, shower, rehearsal dinner} wardrobe.

Even if you have seen these shots from their original debut, they remain an absolutely stunning and wonderfully inspirational portrayal of the chic and calming sensibilities of greys in the home… Not to mention, isn’t it absolutely fascinating to see Monique’s chic aesthetic ooze out of every nook and cranny? 
This darling engagement session was sent to Merci New York by Galaxie Andrews , {one of my fav photographers}, who is based in Arizona but travels around the globe shooting uber-refreshing, lighthearted and completely gorgeous work! As is typical with Galaxie’s engagement shoots, she used simple, whimsical props, allowing the focus to remain on Chanelle and Matt’s great chemistry and fun personalities. Wow, it’s been quite a whirlwind of a week, but the pinnacle was certainly the long awaited Urban Wed event, hosted by the amazingly talented Vané of Brooklyn Bride . It was, in short, awesome. The vendors, the vibe, the sheer amount of creativity in one place… I hope you had a chance to experience this great event yourself {but if you didn’t, here’s a little peek}… 
Urban Wed was such an amazing resource for the city bride- an intimate space, a ton of well-selected talent, and a whole lot of fun. If you missed it this time, be sure to mark your calendar for next season. And to Vané, many, many congratulations. You’re aahmazing!

About the photographer: Betsy Van Langen grew up as somewhat of a paparazzi within her home, yet didn’t take her first photography class until she was an undergraduate at Loyola College in Maryland. After graduating in 2008 with a degree in Fine Arts, she attended the Post Baccalaureate Program at Maryland Institute College of Art. She is currently getting her Masters in Photography at Rutgers University. Her fine arts background allows her to mix creative and stylistic elements with timeless and classic imagery… As a kid, she always wanted to created pictures that people would keep and love forever. Now she does just that.

Yesterday afternoon, Merci New York had the pleasure of attending Bergdorf Goodman’s fabulous Spring Bridal Press Preview. The entire seventh floor was pure, luxurious eye candy, complete with exclusive {jaw dropping} gowns from leading designers, stunning evening bags, luxe accessories, top beauty lines, and of course, accents from their well-edited bridal registry. I’ve always adored the poise and polish of Bergdorf’s merchandising, but this was just beyond… so needless to say, I’m tres-excited to share our little virtual traverse around the store, with Merci New York’s exclusive photos compliments of my photographing partner in crime, the lovely Jen Huang .
