Welcome to November lovelies, we are beginning this month with a sophisticated Dordogne countryside Chateau wedding that’s just glamorous from start to finish.
This sophisticated affair was planned by talented wedding planners Marry Me in France and included a beautiful wedding gown inspired by Princess Kate’s wedding dresses, sounds perfect doesn’t it?! Their guests were even entertained by the amazing band Brightlights who we met and had the pleasure of listening to earlier this year in sunny Provence, we completely understand why the dancefloor was full all evening.
Lauren Michelle Photography captured the ‘golden hour’ wonderfully, some of our favourite images from Lydia and Thomas’s day are their timeless couple shots while the sun sets, just stunning…
“We both knew from the start that we wanted to have a small wedding so we could spend time with all the guests and not feel overwhelmed on the day. Having briefly looked at the options in London and Hertfordshire we decided we wouldn’t be able to achieve our dream wedding in the UK. We turned to Google and quickly found photos of the most beautiful chateau in France and knew it was the one. We contacted the planners and booked without even having visited and luckily our rash decision making paid off!”
“I had always known I wanted a lace sleeved dress and after trying on what felt like hundreds and not finding ‘the one’ I eventually bought a very simple strapless ball gown.”
“The wonderful Emma of Emma Louise Bridal turned it in to my dream dress and instantly knew exactly what I wanted. I also had a more practical Pronovias sheath dress from Teokath for all the dancing in the evening.”
“The dress and the chateau dictated the feel of the day which was traditional but fun and relaxed. Our planner Lou from Marry Me in France , and our on the day coordinator Sue (also from MMIF) put us in touch with all our local suppliers and made sure everything was where it should have been on the day.”
“Our favourite part of the day by far was the ceremony. The tiny chapel in the grounds of the chateau had been filled with candles by the lighting company and with the glow of the candles and all our closest friends and family crammed in it felt very intimate and romantic.”
“They also provided lots of helpful props which would have been difficult for us to get to France ourselves, such as a frame for the photo booth, and vases for our centerpieces which poor Lou traipsed all over the place to get.”
“Having the wedding in France meant we were able to keep the wine flowing all day and had amazing food. We bought all our wine and fizz from a local supplier who we spent a great afternoon wine tasting with. They helped us pick the perfect wines to go with our menu choices and made sure we had the right quantities.”
“ Lauren Michelle our photographer captured the day perfectly, it all goes by so fast and she worked tirelessly ensuring we had every aspect of the day recorded.”
“Choosing our band was one of the best decisions we made as they were a big hit with the guests and kept everyone dancing until the small hours of the morning. We had been worried about asking people to travel over to France but everyone has said they had a fantastic time and we are so grateful they made the effort to be there with us as it meant a lot to have everyone together.”
