According to a wedding tradition rain on the big day brings good luck! The reasoning- a wet knot is harder to untie than a dry one of course! We bet this couple wasn’t thinking that when their wedding day just happened to land on the same day as a tornado. Regardless of the temperamental Maryland weather though, this day remained sparkling and beautiful! Megan Beth captured this Annapolis Yacht Club wedding and managed to get some great shots outside when the wind and rain were taking a break. Listen to her hysterical account of the day,
“The sun was out, beaming as bright and hot as possible, the beautiful bride made her way into the church waiting room and the door closed behind her. I headed inside, set everything down and not two minutes later checked the radar on my phone to see how close it the tornado was. And there she was, blinking red “TORNADO WARNING” “TAKE COVER NOW!” My eyes couldn’t even read as fast as my brain was processing. The church lady was running around yelling at people to take cover, water logged guests were being blown in the front door, and the bride, oblivious to it all, was dancing in the church waiting room. All the wedding guests finally made it safely into the church and the wedding did in fact proceed, even with the ample amount of warnings, severe thunderstorms, rain and rotating clouds.”
