Karen of K. Rainier Photography captured Shawna & Ryan’s engagement in Annapolis, a city they wanted to celebrate in even though they will be saying their vows in the Outer Banks. Shawna even shared with us the story of their engagement,
“We had decided it would be our tradition on the weekend after Thanksgiving to cut down a Christmas tree at a farm nearby. This past year, we set out with Ryan’s brother and fiancé on a mission to find the perfect tree. I had Ryan help me search the entire farm until we reached a section opposite of where we started. I remember thinking how nice everyone was being even though I could not settle on a tree! Once it was picked, Ryan went around the back to start chopping it down, but surprised me by circling the tree, getting down on one knee with a ring and asking me to marry him. Ryan’s brother and fiance were nearby to take pictures and celebrate with a champagne toast. Friends & family began arriving at our house shortly after we got home for what Ryan told them was a “Thanksgiving Leftover Party” which instead turned into a night of celebration.”
