Sometimes it’s the simplicity that a pair of blue jeans and man’s best friend bring to a session that we love most! This engagement session proves just that! Shot by Carly Fuller , Mandy and Jason soaked up the evening sun on the shore. Although the day called for a storm it was nowhere in sight when Carly turned her camera on. One amazing photographer + a couple with serious model status = an incredible set of engagement photos! I mean, did you get a hold of those piercing blue eyes?

Mark and Beth met with Annamarie Akins to have their engagement pictures captured in a small nearby town. This couple is always smiling and that is what we love most! Not a single second of this session seems to pass without their joy manifesting itself in the gorgeous images! The town of Occoquan is just a quick hour trip from Annapolis and yet Annamarie (and Bayside Bride) had never even heard of it. It’s a sweet little place tucked away, giving off a charming ‘Mayberry’ vibe. It’s the perfect location for a down to earth couple like Mark & Beth!

Vintage Wedding Ideas
This vintage bridal session by Sophie Asselin Photographe has so many swoon worthy details from old vintage books, jewelry, head pieces, lace, mirrors, and many more vintage ideas! I can’t get enough of this creative bridal session!
I’m kind of obsessed with lace, which has made me fall in love even more with the details in this shoot. The bride is wearing a simple lace gown with an adorable sweetheart neckline, and the invitations are wrapped in an elegant lace doily with an old vintage key centered on the front. How adorable!
And the cake… oh this cake! It is made of ruffles and sugar flowers! Notice it is not bright white but a vintage cream, which is so perfect for this photo shoot.
Enjoy all these vintage details and get inspired for your own vintage bridal session!
I love this half-ring statement the bride is making on her ring finger! It’s an edgy and non-traditional idea!
If you want a simple, earthy bouquet, choose a simple color scheme and wrap hemp or burlap string around the flowers.
Mason jars and old books are a great (and affordable) way to add some vintage flare to your wedding.
Make a statement with a bold, yet simple, vintage jewelry piece.
I am swooning over these nude patent leather bow flats! What a great way to be comfortable and stylish on your wedding day! Click HERE to find similar shoes.
Adding a lace head band or a vintage sash adds another layer of vintage to this already beautiful lace gown!
Flower headpieces are always beautiful, fresh, and simple!
These headpieces incorporate feathers and jewels- vintage, vintage, vintage!

Shelby Leigh sent this gem of a day our way! It is full of beautiful surprises, from a first look by the Severn River to the spunkiest flower girl we’ve seen since Will and Kate’s royal nuptials! Not only did Nessa & Brendan tie the knot outdoors, but the decor and colors of their wedding make a nod to natural elegance. Wood burned elements, earthy greens, and even leaf-like jewelry complete the picture.
Nessa shared a bit of her love story, “Brendan and I met in Denver, and were engaged at a gorgeous frozen alpine lake called “Dream Lake” in December 2011. Brendan and I knew that we wanted to get married in Sherwood Forest, the magical place where Brendan’s parents live and where Brendan spent his summers growing up. We had a beautiful day, with perfect weather, surrounded by friends and family in a place we both love. We embraced the natural beauty of Sherwood Forest by using a tree/wood theme.”
“We wanted to be sure that our wedding day reflected who we are, both as individuals and as a couple. For that reason, we wrote our own ceremony and vows, and were married by Brendan’s cousin. I wore my grandmother’s crystal jewelry. My mom did all of the calligraphy. Brendan’s dad made signs and our cake stand from a local tree that had fallen during a storm. As you can see in some of the pictures, our three adorable nieces stole the show as our flower girls.”
