I usually shoot to post one blog a day, but sometimes there’s bridal fashion news that’s worth a second look – like this little bit of fabulousness {above}.
Taylor Swift released her new fragrance, Wonderstruck, today… The fragrance is one thing, the video another, but the dress? Pure frothy perfection from Christian Siriano . It semi-reminds me of my favorite peaches and cream Barbie doll from the 80s, but in a very, VERY good way. To take a closer peek, check out the video here .

Wedding colors: orange and brown never looked so good
Wedding colors: orange and brown never looked so good. I love this Seattle wedding and all its personal touches. In fact it is hard for me to pick my favorite part. It could be the bride's boots. Or the amazing invitations and the beautiful envelope labels. Maybe it is the homemade cookie table or the handmade cake. It is just too hard to pick. Don't believe me? Take a peak yourself. This wedding screams style and so does the lovely couple in it.
So what is your favorite part? The wedding umbrellas, wedding signs, the fall colors.. see what i mean.
Congratulations Shannon and Daniel on your beautiful day. And thank you for sharing.
The amazing photography is from Sea Studio . And if you like what you see you can check out more wedding pictures from this amazing day.

Real NYC Engagement Session | Leah + Ryan Take to the Highline
I love this adorable downtown engagement session submitted by Sofia Negron Photography . Leah and Ryan wanted a shoot that captured their fun-loving personalities and their West Village neighborhood. Their super-cute balloons and adorable smiles make this shoot so cheery and fun. Scroll down to read their love story… From the photographer, Sofia Negron: Leah and Ryan met at Harvard undergrad. Ryan was studying in his dorm and looked out his window, only to catch a glimpse of Leah as she pulled her extra-large bag of laundry across campus. Seizing the opportunity, he immediately ran out to meet her.
According to Ryan, “Freshman year, Leah was struggling like a damsel in distress trying to carry her laundry across Harvard Yard. When I looked out of my dorm room window, I knew this was the perfect chance to meet Leah and start out with some brownie points.” Looks like it worked — Leah and Ryan are getting married in Philadelphia at the Kimmel Center June 16, 2012.

Chic and Pretty Details: Babies Breath Centerpieces
Chic and Pretty Details: Babies Breath Centerpieces
This chic and pretty tablescape found its way into our inbox this morning, compliments of the lovely Azar Jazestani Events . Azar and I met last winter on a snowy day in Montreal. I was in town to speak at Bridal Boudoir , and Azar was brave enough to show me all the stylish stops around her hometown, despite the blizzard-like snow… She had an uncanny eye for style and I so enjoyed shopping Old Montreal with her…
With her event production and design company, Principal Planner , Azar’s eye for style translates down to every detail. Case in point? This simple and sweet centerpiece, which showcases babies breath, {the often cringed over bodega bouquet filler} in a chic, new way.
I love how Azar used beautiful cut crystal accents with a soft and serene color palette for this tablescape. Wouldn’t this be equally stunning for a bridal shower?
From the Designer, Principal Planner {Azar Jazestani Events}:
The use of baby’s breath still shocks people. However, if you want a big wow factor, but don’t have a million dollars to spend, baby’s breath is a good alternative. Please don’t quote me on it being a “cheap centerpiece”… it’s actually NOT {when used in large quantities}, but your money goes a very long way and you are left with a stunner. For brides who want that big ball effect… please, please, please, keep the fake flower ball centerpieces to a minimum. I cringe. Instead, opt for a more affordable solution that will leave your guests inspired.

Invite Barbie and Ken to your wedding
Invite Barbie and Ken to your wedding
Invite Barbie and ken to your wedding. Ok I confess. I played with Barbies much too late in life and I loved every single minute of it. The very mix of Barbies and weddings in any way would have made me the happiest girl alive. Today, even this is probably not something I would do I can appreciate how lucky these ladies are. They got to have Barbie at their wedding. Ohhh and on some level I'm even a little jealous.
1. How is this for a flower bouquet alternative ? Carry Barbie. I like the fact that this bride let her girls choose the barbie doll they wanted.

How are these for pretty hanger options? Not only are the pretty they are personalized too.

I love these personalized wire hangers and I was so excited to find a DIY wire hangers tutorial. There are a few variations but the one I'm going to try starts with wood hangers that you can get at target and then start shaping your names out of wire. Here is a video for help with the letter wire shaping .
How cute are these as DIY gifts? Or for a wedding or as a gift for baby.

Merci New York Featured in Sunday’s New York Times Style Section
I was so thrilled to open the Sunday Styles section of the New York Times yesterday….
Last week, reporter Marianne Rohrlich interviewed Merci New York for an article on brides who splurge on “everything but the dress.” As a bridal fashion stylist, I was thrilled to weigh in on the popular trend – and even more excited to see the great article hit the press in yesterday’s Sunday Styles Section .
In addition to styling insight, the article recounts the experiences of several New York brides who bought inexpensive dresses, only to up the ante with high-fashion accessories. It’s a must-read for any bride putting together her wedding day look.
I hope you will read the story here — and share more about your own wedding accessory game plan in the comments below!

A few ways to add pearls to your day
A few ways to add pearls to your day
A few ways to add pearls to your day. I love pearls. They are timeless and classic and the epitomy of sophistication. And they are so femine. But pearls can be lots of fun too. And so can a pearl wedding theme. Here are five easy ways to pearl it up.
1. Water pearls- I love this- not only is it so easy to do. Different sized pearls are a great subsitute to stones and they look just as beautiful through the glass.
pearls in water source stnicksgifts2. Drape them- Pearls can be your wedding decor. Hang strings of pearls from the table of honor, sweet table or from the back of chairs. You can use pearls to display your wedding bride and groom signs .
pearls draped on tables source heavenly blooms 3. Wear em- wear layers of long and short pearl necklaces just like the bride below for more of a hip look. Really any way you wear em you can't go wrong with pearls.

If you are crafty and on a budget you can do any of these ideas yourself. Pearls are easy to find. You can buy them in bulk from most craft stores or you can pick up all kinds of vintage pearls for crafts from ebay. Pearls are also available in every color possible making them a great way to incorporate your wedding color.
Glitter Letters *love*
Glitter Letters *love*
Glitter Letters. Aren't these amazing? Sparkly and wonderful. And the best part? They would make beautiful and affordable sparkly wedding decor or they'd be pretty fun for the holidays.
If you are crafty you can make glitter word banners with cardstock and a template. (Click on the images for both) Or if you want to save the time and the glitter mess, I found some wonderful banners and stand alone glitter letters and glitter numbers from Oh One Fine Day .

Glitter Letters are definetly something we are thinking of doing. They look beautiful in metalics. I'm not sure yet if we want to go with a glitter word banner, glitter magnets , or the stand alone glitter letters. How cute would a glitter letter 'sweets' banner be for the sweet table? Or how aboult glitter numbers as table numbers, or the stand alone Love as a photo prop? *love*
London Fashion Week Recap
London Fashion Week Recap
“Something Blue” and “Something Unexpected” is what we got from British designers showing their Spring 2012 collections. These collections are unpredictable and definitely push the fashion envelope forward. Among all the wackiness take note of designer Erdem’s beautiful floral dresses which have caught the eye of Duchess Catherine. Enjoy the shades of blue on the runway… I am still waiting for a bride to wear blue on their big day!
Romantic Southern Farm Engagement Shoot
Romantic Southern Farm Engagement Shoot
So yesterday, I gave some tips and ideas for couples getting ready for their engagement shoots, and now I get to feature one! I have some very sweet engagement photos today, which photographer Melissa Rena was kind enough to share with us! The couple, Kate and Michael, have plans to get married this winter on Thanksgiving weekend after meeting and dating about eight years ago during their senior year of high school. They eventually (and peacefully) parted ways to go to college, but reconnected about five years later after spending time together back in their hometown. After dating for a couple of years, Michael dropped down on one knee and proposed to Kate on a New Year's cruise with family and friends just about two years ago.
This sweet engagement photo shoot took place at the soon-to-be-married couple's picturesque family farm in the South, which has been in Michael's family for generations. His grandmother left the farm and the house on the property to him after she passed, and it will soon be his and Kate's new home after they're married! The couple is planning to live on the farm together after their winter wedding this Thanksgiving weekend, and have plans to eventually build a brand new home of their very own on the expansive property.
The bride-to-be described the personal significance of the engagement photos location, saying, "The picture of us walking through the field holding hands is neat because the hill in the background might be the spot for our future home." I wanted to feature Michael and Kate's engagement shoot because you can definitely feel the love in these photos, which is the key to an amazing engagement shoot, in my opinion! I love how Melissa's photos evoke a sense of peace, and they really seem to reveal the connection and intimacy that exists between the Kate and Michael. I hope that we all get to see wedidng photos in a few months! ;)

OMG Friends! Check out these precious Lanvin Dolls . As several of you know I love Lanvin…now I just HAVE to figure out what excuse I need to buy these darlings! Below is Quoted by Refinery 29 …where i found this great find!
“A percentage of proceeds from the sales benefit Dessine l’Espoir, the charity Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz commissioned to fabricate them. Indeed, the hand-stitched and embroidered figures were made by HIV-positive women in Swaziland—employed by Dessine l’Espoir—ensuring these talented ladies a steady source of income that enhances their quality of life and the resources needed to feed their families. Dressed in actual miniature reproductions of Lanvin Petite outfits, the couture toys qualify as collector’s items, and you know Barbie would be jealous of that Daphne Guinness-worthy makeup, and oh la la, those pearls! The $400 poupées hit Lanvin stores in November!”
So its a win win…money goes to charity…and you get the chicest, ridiculously delicious dolls! COLLECTABLE! Made me smile!

A Special Sneak Peek… ColinCowieWeddings.com
A Special Sneak Peek… ColinCowieWeddings.com
Yesterday morning, I had the pleasure of learning what the ever-amazing Colin Cowie has been cooking up for the last two years, and it will be sure to stun you right off your Jimmy Choo-clad toes.
Bright and early at the Crosby Street Hotel, the celebrity wedding planner and lifestyle expert unveiled a sneak peek of his uber-comprehensive new wedding site , ColinCowieWeddings.com , which will launch mid-October to the masses. Brides looking for fresh inspiration and expert planning advice at all price points will find it here, edited and curated with the added cachet of Cowie’s invaluable expertise. Here’s a bit more about what I learned while breakfasting with Colin and his awesome team…
The site will have three main channels: Confidentially Colin, MyCollection, and my favorite: Inspire Me. The Inspire Me channel offers smart, in-depth articles for both the bride and groom covering every aspect of wedding planning from engagement parties to the honeymoon; fashion, beauty, travel and registry; how-to tips and tricks; trend reportage; inspirational ideas and more. I loved the editorial, magazine-quality look of the fashion landing page {above}. Isn’t it super-chic? Another amazing segment of the Inspire Me channel is “Gentlemen’s Corner” – the first area of a major bridal site that truly suits the groom. Knowing the New York groom, I think he will totally see this page as an online GQ of sorts for his wedding. It’s masculine, fashionable and straight to the point – a place men will feel comfortable visiting, offering great style and planning advice to grooms and their groomsmen. {I definitely could have seen my own husband perusing pre-wedding}.
In keeping with Cowie’s tradition of exceeding expectations, brides will also be able to save, organize and share what inspires them privately and securely with their friends and family using the site’s MyCollection channel {be sure to sneak a peek at it before the masses, here }.
And the last channel, Confidentially, Colin, offers couples the chance to personally connect with Cowie and seek his advice on topics like proper wedding etiquette, planning logistics, and more. Here he shares thoughts, suggestions, insider tips, advice and counsel from his 25 years of wedding planning around the world. What’s not to love about that?
Are you in love yet? I, for one, adored every page, but I wanted you to weigh in too, so here’s something special…. Colin and crew are allowing Merci New York readers a chance to ‘skip to the front of the line’ and have access to the new site quickly. { Log in here for access}.
Hope you like your personal sneak peek … Cannot wait to hear what you think!

Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week
Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week
This past week in NY some of my favorite designers showed their collections for Spring 2012.There was so much inspiration for the Bridal world and I wanted to share some trends that will definitely emerge next year. One thing I was surprised by was the return of fringe! I had been using some of these details at parties and now I see it all over the runways of Marchesa and Ralph Lauren . I also saw a lot of the color champagne, which is a great option for a second wedding. Pants and suiting is still a trend, perhaps for a wedding at a court house or even to wear to the rehearsal dinner.
See some of my favorite designs from Marchesa , Zac Posen , Ralph Rucci , The Row , Calvin Klein , Ralph Lauren , Naeem Kahn and The Imitation of Christ show where they had a real wedding in the middle of the fashion show!
Enjoy a preview of the fashions for next year.
xox Enjoy,
Mindy
