What’s New with Merci New York

Hey all.  Hope you’re decking the halls and making merry on this Monday morning… or as best you can after a long weekend of T-day festivities.  It’s been awhile since we posted, but I just wanted to drop in to say “stay tuned”! We’re gearing up for a great series of Merci New York blog stories that run the gamut from weddings, engagements, registries and honeymoons… but also all the fabulous fetes and life events that occur after the Big Day.  {The thing is, as Merci has grown, so have we, and we’re just as excited about styling your home, yourself, heck… your baby’s first birthday party, as we are about the wedding day that kicked off all the fun}.

Personally, I’ve been so fortunate to spend the last year tending to our Merci New York fashion and editorial styling clients, while also raising my little munchkin and designing our new home right outside NYC in the Westchester ‘burbs.  It’s been a big change for this city girl, but a fun ride, and I’m psyched to share some of the pretty projects, fun parties, and editorial client styling gigs things we’ve created along the way.

Several weeks ago, we had the pleasure of working with not one, but two fabulous clients! Donna Morgan commissioned Merci New York to style their new line of spring dresses, and we styled the campaign with a beautiful assortment of designer jewelry from our friends at Thomas Laine .  Take a look at these gorgeous dresses that will take you from day to night this season!

The inspiration behind this shoot was to create a fun and edgy look for any chic and stylish girl!  With fabulous prints and a variety of textures these dresses are perfect for a day in the office, then off to an evening out with your girlfriends!

We love the bright and fun colors of these Donna Morgan dresses!  The cut and texture make them appropriate for the office, but once we styled them with great accessories like a thick belt or statement necklace, they quickly transitioned into great looks for a post-work cocktail with friends {or a Sunday brunch}!

When accessorizing for the shoot, we styled all the dresses with statement pieces from Thomas Laine , {an amazing resource for versatile and stylish jewelry}.  We loved how these cuffs added a playful pop against the black and white dresses!

Merci New York Featured in The Knot Spring 2012 Issue

Merci New York Featured in The Knot Spring 2012 Issue We are excited to announce that The Knot’s Spring 2012 Fashion Issue has hit newsstands, and honored to share that little ol’ Merci New York received their approving “link love” as a favorite bridal fashion blog alongside industry behemoths Kleinfeld and Wedding Channel.com . We are beyond blushing, actually… we’re thrilled.
Knot editors graciously gave Merci New York their fashionista seal of approval, claiming our blog has “gorgeous photos and spot-on bridal-fashion guidance for your inner Carrie Brandshaw.” {Aw, shucks}.
The Knot’s new Spring Fashion issue is {you guessed it} focused on the gorgeous new gowns that walked the runway last October and are finally in an atelier near you. The issue also sneaks a peek at the glam shoes, hair accessories and jewelry to complete your look… and shows real brides who pulled it all together perfectly.
In short, the Spring 2012 issue is essentially a bible for the fashion-obsessed bride. If you haven’t done so already, be sure to pick up your issue today!

Merci New York Featured in The New York Times Style Section

Merci New York Featured in The New York Times Style Section Wow, it’s been a whirlwind here at Merci New York … and somehow in the process of styling some majorly fun clients, working on wedding shows, and many, {many} meetings, we forgot to share something that absolutely knocked our socks off: A wonderful mention in the New York Times Style Section in a fabulous article on bridal fashion.
You can imagine how thrilled I was to open the Sunday New York Times and see this article… And not just because I contributed to it. It’s just amazing to see the media reinforcing that bridal “rules” are changing, and that a bride’s wedding fashion should dictated – first and foremost – by her personal style.

Jupiter Jewelry Campaign in Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine | Merci Portfolio

As you probably noticed from last Friday’s “Behind the Scenes” post, Merci New York had a lot of fun producing and styling the advertorial and look book for our clients, Jupiter Jewelry .
Editorial production and styling is one of our most popular services at Merci. While we l.o.v.e. to privately style brides, working with brands to conceptualize and create an editorial campaign that epitomizes their identity is one of our MAJOR strong suites.
And we don’t just style, we tackle it all from soup to nuts… From pitching creative concepts, scouting locations, hiring a fabulous team of photographers, hair and make-up artist, floral designer, retouchers {and of course, our stylists}, we manage and produce it all so companies can sit back and enjoy watching a vision come to life.
