DIY Favor Inspiration: Macaron Favor Box

When we hear the words “Parisian” and “pastels” the first thing that comes to mind is macarons (of course!). Here’s a lovely, elegant DIY idea for your favors if you’re planning a French flair affair. Wrap your favors up pretty with a simple clear box and a bit of ribbon . Your guests will love (and love to eat) this sweet, delicate treat.

DIY: Custom Wedding Backdrop

We’re seeing dreamy wedding backdrops everywhere these days, so we thought it high time to create one of our own. And with a bit of crate paper, streamers and string, you can too. It’s easier than it looks—we promise!

DIY: Custom Wedding Backdrop

We measured a six foot string (butchers twine will do just fine). Then we measured 16 foot strips of crate paper and metallic streamers and knotted them at the top of the string, so 8 feet would fall on each side.

DIY: Custom Wedding Backdrop

Tie each piece close together and be sure to alternate colors/textures as you go along. You can even fold the crate paper to create waves, or trim the sides to get a cool effect. Once you’ve covered the entire string, you’re done. A voila! Use it as a backdrop for a photo booth, the dessert table or gift table.

DIY Wedding Ceremony Confetti Cones

When dreaming of your perfect wedding, you may think back to weddings of the past, when rice was thrown as the bride and groom exited their wedding ceremony.

It’s a beautiful image, but unfortunately one that is unpractical – and often not allowed – for many modern weddings. To keep this tradition alive brides have become creative, giving their guests everything from bubbles to glitter to toss as they make their way down the aisle as husband and wife. We put together a fun DIY project just for this occasion, and think these confetti cones are the perfect item to fill with rose petals.

DIY Wedding Ceremony Confetti Cones

Making the cones is an easy project that can be done in a day. We love the added personal touch of custom gift tags , which you can match to your wedding invitations. DIY Wedding Ceremony Confetti Cones

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A square sheet of decorated paper
  • Gift tags
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon
  • Tape
  • Scissors

DIY Wedding Ceremony Confetti Cones

Steps:

  1. Turn the square sheet of paper so it is a diamond, and simply fold in one side, then the other. You’ll want to make sure the bottom of the cone is tight, so your confetti doesn’t fall out. Secure the cone with a piece of tape.
  2. Add an extra piece of tape where the paper crosses at the opening of the cone. This is where you will attach the gift tag, so the tape will add extra support.
  3. Punch a hole in the gift tag and the cone, then secure the gift tag to the cone with a pretty ribbon bow.
  4. Fill the cones with your choice of confetti – we suggest flower petals! You can ask your florist to supply flower petals on the day of your wedding, or you can find silk petals at a local craft store.

Quick tip: Wait to fill the cones until you arrive at your ceremony site – the petals may fall out during transport!

Glam and Girly Kate Spade Inspired Bridal Shower

We are thrilled to have the talented Natalie Bushman from Nat Your Average Girl with us today. She is sharing her ultra glam and girly Kate Spade inspired bridal shower she hosted. Now this is a bridal shower theme we can get behind!

Eeek! I’m so excited to show you guys the bridal shower a couple of my friends and I threw last week! We went for a Kate Spade theme and stuck with bright colors, bold stripes, and pops of gold. It was definitely glam and girly.

We started off by sending invitations by Wedding Paper Divas. I’m obsessed with water color right now (who isn’t) and these were spot on gorgeous! With matching thank you cards and favors these details helped set the stage for the perfect shower.

It’s no secret that I love party planning. However I tend to do what has worked in the past instead of thinking outside of the box…if it’s not broken don’t fix it! That’s definitely a struggle of mine. You’ll see that I’m a firm believer in tissue paper decor (hello cheap and easy) but my friends pushed me to try some new things like the paper flower wall which was stunning but crazy time consuming. I say this shower is the best of both worlds.

I used my Mom’s banana bread recipe for the “cake” and added home made cream cheese frosting. My friends helped with the fresh flowers and I added the topper about five minutes before the party!

DIY Wedding Favor Inspiration: Succulents

For this easy DIY wedding favor project, we chose to complement a trendy wedding theme – rustic elegance that is perfect for fall! With succulents popping up everywhere from bouquets to center pieces, the hardy plant makes for a fantastic wedding gift for your guests, especially when paired with a chic wedding gift tag .

DIY Wedding Favor Inspiration: Succulents

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Mini Glass Bell Jar with Base
  • Sand
  • Succulents
  • Gift Tag & paper
  • Twine

DIY Wedding Favor Inspiration: Succulents

Steps:

  1. Fill the base with sand, and arrange the succulent cuttings. Use 2-3 varieties of succulents for the best look – we recommend pairing contrasting heights and widths!
  2. Delicately place the mini bell jar onto the base. You may want secure with invisible tape for transportation purposes.
  3. Attach the gift tag sticker to a piece of paper, and cut around the border. Using about 10 inches of twine, wrap the handle of the bell jar several times, and then tie on the gift tag.

It’s a simple DIY that your guests will love to take home. An added bonus? They’ll look gorgeous placed on the reception tables!

DIY: Embellished Place Settings

Wedding season is in full swing, which can only mean that bridal showers are too. So, we thought it’d be the perfect time to share a chic shower DIY that’s easy to make—and easy on any planner’s budget.Embellishing your guests’ place settings is a fun way to add a dash of elegance to your event, and your bride will absolutely love the thought.

Here’s how it’s done…

DIY: Embellished Place Settings

Supplies

  • Kraft paper
  • White paint pen
  • Clear glass plates

Step 1: Set the Stage

Turn your kraft paper into a tablecloth. If space doesn’t permit, cut runners or rectangular shapes for each spot.

Step 2: Get Creative

Use the paint pen to write out each guests’ name. Add fun flourishes, delicate dots and more! You can even use this space to play up your party’s theme. Just make sure to keep your handcrafted design within the shape and size of the plate that it will sit under.
