Stylish Stud Earrings

Happy Friday! Now, like most of you ladies out there, I'm a huge fan of jewelry and accessories. Especially bracelets and rings; I can't get enough of 'em. However, I've never been hugely into earrings. It has nothing to do with how they look and everything to do with comfort. If I do happen to wear a dangly set of earrings, they have to be pretty light in weight, otherwise, they just bug me. I also have this silly fear that I'll be wearing them, and I'll accidentally pull one out of my ear or something. Ouch! I guess I have a thing with ears, because I can hardly look at those huge spacers that all of the guys and girls are wearing these days. Ahhh...they just look painful!

So when I do happen to wear earrings, they're almost always very simple stud earrings. Boring, I know...but I've been noticing that lately, many jewelry designers have been jazzing up their stud earrings a bit more than usual! I personally think that stud earrings can be really elegant, and I have a feeling that they're are going to make a huge comeback this season. I just bought the heart shaped gold ones I've featured below! Here are some of my favorites so far.

This little bit of loveliness is the Valentino Rockstar Ballerina Flat – shown in blush no less- and it’s uber-chic, super comfy, and oh-so-rewearable for your post-wedding day wardrobe.
Now, I’m not saying every bride should sashay down the aisle in these puppies {although supermodel Caroline Trentini did}… But if you’re looking for something uber-chic and super-comfy to rock out on the dance floor in, this bridal stylist thinks they are a must-try.
Happy shopping!

Romantic winter wedding inspirations and suggested winter wedding cards

Every season has its own charm, including winter. The charm of winter is the all white world, clear air and falling snow. Snow is the angel of winter. For the setting part you can take advantage of snow to make a fairy tale like wedding. Unlike weddings in spring or summer, winter is always chilly and the wedding dress should has a function to keep warm and make your more beautiful at the same time. Day time in winter is short you can think about a evening wedding ceremony instead.

First let’s take a look at some stunning winter bridal gowns. This one is not so long as walking in the snow is kinda difficult. You can wear a pair of boots. Wedding dress with the snow is all white so if you add some outstanding colors on your dress it would be really nice.

Romantic winter wedding inspirations and suggested winter wedding cards

You can either wear a long black jacket or wind coat. Two bold colors will make your both handsome and beautiful.

If the place where your wedding will be is under a snow mountain it’s better.Walking on the snow and listen to the sound how lovely it is. Here you can find some souvenir for your wedding. Also the guests can enjoy the beautiful scenery.Pine trees in winter are really nice. Strongly recommend you hold a wedding ceremony in a far away place with pure snow to enjoy the peace.

Wedding bouquet. Green or red wedding bouquet for a winter wedding is absolutely right. The color will be more outstanding in the white setting. To work with the color of your bouquet you can make your hairstyle with the same color.I am crazy for green wedding bouquet in winter. Green is the color of new life.Winter is the season to hold all your strength and wait for the spring comes. Get married is a symbol that you are having a new life. You are not only yourself from that day on and you’ve got a family to love,a mate to keep company of.

Dreamy wedding setting. Not so bright not so dark just proper to have a romantic and quiet wedding. “Snow” was piled up around the “tree”.The trees made an aisle for you and your mate. How romantic to walk down the dreamy aisle. Isn’t it what you want from a little girl? To be a princess and now you are a real princess.

Trees with snow covered in the house.Suitable for a buffet decoration and cocktail party decor.

We cannot forget the wedding invitations.Snow flake and snow mountains themed wedding invitations are commonly seen. But they are not the only choices. Blue or white invitations are good choices. One of A Kind Wedding Cakes

Are you tired of normal white wedding cakes with one or two or more flowers on?Although wedding cake  is for eating but as a decor it has an excuse to be stunning also.Sometimes the cake house provide kinds of wedding cakes but you still don’t have one in your heart that you will fall in love just for one glance. While now we collected some one of a kind wedding cakes for you. Each one is stunning and all of them are special.

Paununo wedding cakes are not so complicated but beautiful. Ombre colors are common seen on this kind of wedding cakes.Purple wedding cake is elegant choice. Actually white cake  with one or two orange color paununos decorateed is simple and nice. It goes well with a simple wedding with your close family members and close friends.

One of A Kind Wedding Cakes

Modern wedding cakes as below.

The first one is like a paint from a kid. It depends on your wedding theme. If your wedding is in out door then it is good in the nature. Or the wedding is in the garden.

The second one is a cake like a tree or like a small forest. Main color is gray and white. Just like trees in winter. Black dots are leaves on the trees. Of course actually they are made from chocolate.

Third one is covered with small white hearts. In the middle layer there is a “heart” in red and two hearts on the two sides holding the first word of the bride’s and groom’s name. It means they love each other and from the day on they are a couple they will live together and face the new life together.

The forth one is really lovely. On the pure white wedding cake there is a “line” and on the end of it there is a pink heart.Simple designed with full of love…

Similar to the forth one the fifth one also has a lovely topper. The difference is that the fifth one is a perfect combination of paununo and flower topper.

Coming to the sixth one.Not all wedding cakes are round and this one is a square one. Also designed in a simple way.

What comes to your mind when you look at he seventh one?Lol.

Eighth is elegant. What makes it special is the “beaded” decoration.

Next one is really inviting and wants to bite.

The last one is a ombre pink like rainbow wedding cake.

Words from the Photographer: “Kira and Cameron were one of the first couples that I ever photographed. Years ago, long before any talk of engagements or weddings – they inquired about setting up a couple’s session and we bonded instantly in downtown Annapolis! As the years passed, their love blossomed into an unconditional romance that led up to their beautiful wedding day at Maria’s Bed & Breakfast in Stevensville, Maryland!

Their wedding was filled with faith, family, and friends – an event so full of joy and happiness that it truly blew me away! From the DIY Centerpieces to the handmade bouquets to a photobooth where guests posed all night long – Kira and Cameron’s Wedding was absolutely perfect!”

Save the Dates | Lessons Learned & Etiquette

Last week, after procrastinating for far too long, Huey and I finally sat down to finish our Save the Dates! We were so incredibly lucky that my Matron of Honor,  Bayside Bestie, and Graphic Designer Extraordinare, Krista A. Jones , created the design and helped us in picking out the proper envelopes!

But I quickly learned that designing the Save the Dates was only the first part of the process! Today’s post is all about Save the Dates – Lessons Learned and a little Etiquette!

Save the Dates | Lessons Learned & Etiquette

Tracking Down & Storing Addresses:

One of the toughest parts of putting together our Save the Dates was actually tracking down everyone’s current mailing address! In a day and age of electronic communication, we no longer send letters as often as our parents or grandparents did! Because of this – I have never needed to keep a current Address Book… until now!

Creating a list of addresses may be easier for some couples than others and we struggled with tracking down friends who had just graduated from college, family members who had recently moved, and military couples that are still awaiting their next station!

Natalie’s Tip: My biggest suggestion for keeping track of addresses would be to create a Google Doc Spreadsheet that you share with your fiance! If you aren’t familiar with Google Docs, they update in real time as you enter new information, so you are always using the most updated version of the address book, and can be accessed from any computer at any time when logged in to your private Google Account!  You can also “share” Google Docs so that other people have access to the document and can edit or view it! You could also do something similar in Microsoft Excel, with different columns to keep track of the guest’s proper name, mailing address, rsvp, etc. – All in one document.

And it’s very easy to turn your Electronic Guest-list into a running Address Book by copy and pasting the addresses that you’ve collected into another Google Doc or Spreadsheet! Rather than having to write out every name and address in a traditional book – typing is much faster for some AND allows for easy replication! You can also transfer the data directly to labels if you decide not to handwrite the Send To: Addresses OR email the list to your Calligrapher for an easy sharing of information!

Regardless of how you collect and store your guest’s addresses – be sure of one very important thing… Keep them somewhere that you will have them again in a few months! When it comes time to mail out invitations, you should be one step ahead!

Save the Dates | Lessons Learned & Etiquette

The Design:

Many couples today choose a photograph for their Save the Date and since Huey and I haven’t done our engagement session yet, we decided to take a different route! Krista created a relationship timeline that covered a few different events in our lives beside cute little graphics that fit with the story!

We ended our timeline with the date of our wedding, May 25, 2013 and the amount of time that makes up the full seven years we will have been dating!

Natalie’s Tip: When it comes to choosing a design for your Save the Dates – follow your heart! I highly recommend hiring a local graphic designer or wedding stationary professional to work with you ONE on ONE to create the perfect design! We have an amazing list of Wedding Invitation Designers in our Vendor Guide that are truly exceptional and I love knowing that our Save the Date truly reflects who we are as a couple! Unless you are a highly trained graphic designer, this is one area of your wedding planning that I would recommend not trying to do-it-yourself! It reduces stress and creates a much better result to leave the design up to professionals!

Save the Dates | Lessons Learned & Etiquette

Created by: Little Bit Heart via Thursday Tip: Save the Date

Suggestions and Etiquette:

One of my favorite local designers, Little Bit Heart, put together an amazing Save the Date Tips Post a few months back that is truly worth reading! The Little Bit Heart ladies recommend that Save the Dates should be mailed out approximately 4-6 months prior to the wedding, or 9-12 months for destination weddings!

Since we are getting married on Memorial Day Weekend during the Naval Academy graduation – We decided to send our Save the Dates out just over 7 months before the big day!  We know this weekend is going to be busy for everyone and want to make sure that our friends and family can Save the Date!

If you’re reserving blocks of Hotel Rooms or have a large number of family and friends coming from out of town – You should include this information in your Save the Date! Also, if you have designed your wedding website – this is also good information to include!

What most couples love about Save the Dates are the informality and ability to truly be creative in ways that formal wedding invitations may not allow! Some of my favorite Save the Dates are postcards, magnets, and other objects – couples can have fun and be free to do something different with these pre-invitation mailings!

Sweet Engagement Session | Katie Nesbitt Photography

We absolutely love today’ engagement session from Katie Nesbitt Photography – especially because this couple brought Annapolitan Style with them to their Richmond shoot! They will be getting married on the beloved Eastern Shore and incorporated a ship’s wheel into their session! We’ll let Katie take it from here:

“Sirena and Derek are getting married next year on the Eastern shore, but they chose to have their engagement session a little closer to home in Richmond while still keeping a few of the nautical touches they are planning for their big day. We started our session at the Supreme Court in Richmond where they actually met (they both work for the supreme court!) and meandered down to the historic Canal as well as Brown’s Island. Sirena’s good friend handmade the banner with their wedding date and the ship’s wheel they used as a prop was a gift given to Sirena’s father for his many years of service with the US Navy!”

This session is simply too cute to resist! Congratulations Sirena & Derek!

Sun-drenched Waterside Engagement Shoot

Hey guys! Today, I am so excited for the weekend because my mom is here to spend it with us! She got in yesterday, and she is staying in our new house for the first time. Last time she visited us earlier this year, we were still in a tiny 1.5 bedroom apartment, so this is a big upgrade! We have a few things planned while she is here, as well as a good amount of quiet/at-home bonding time :)

You'll notice that today, I'm featuring an engagement shoot. If you're at all familiar with my publication schedule, you'll know that I don't usually share engagement sessions on Fridays; I usually feature them on Thursdays. However, I had to switch up my schedule just a bit this time in order to accomodate for the sponsored post that I shared yesterday. But at least this way, you guys can enjoy this sweet and sun-filled engagement shoot all weekend long, right?!

Lindsay and Matt's engagement session by The Photo Boothe photographed by the water in Utah is a classic example of sweet summer love. The photos are drenched in the warm sunlight, and I LOVE how the couple really had fun with it and jumped right into the water!
