engagement | Lee + Justine

“As the sun was setting and we were wrapping up Justine and Lee’s engagement photography session, Randy Travis’s song “I’m Going to Love You Forever” started playing in my head. Those lyrics describe exactly how Justine and Lee look at each other and that love definitely carried over into their pictures. It’s no wonder I thought of that romantic song! We cannot wait to capture their wedding day and the special moment (that Justine is dreaming about!) when Lee first sees his bride!” – Kandi of 2Hodges Photography

“To us, photography for our wedding was something that we did not want to take lightly, I mean, at the end of the day those are the memories that you get to keep with you forever! We contacted a local photographer and asked if they would be available but they ended up being booked for our wedding day. Instead they recommended 2Hodges Photography and we are SO glad that they did. Lee and I met up with Kandi at a coffee shop in downtown Knoxville and immediately we knew that her and Steve were going to be the ones to capture our special day!

..Yes, we are DIY-ing a LOT for our wedding! My mom and sister are basically my wedding planners, designers, dreamers, coordinators… you name it, they are doing it! They are amazing. My mom has decorated hundreds of mason jars for our centerpieces, my sister created all of our invitations, RSVP cards and change of venue cards, and for our wedding favors we made our own Vanilla! My sister created the stickers and tags for that as well. DIY is the way to go! (Especially when you have a creative family member, or two!)

..Of all of our wedding plans, I think we are most excited for the moment we see each other as I am walking down the aisle towards him. I dream of that moment all the time! Walking with my Dad next to me towards the man that I am going to spend the rest of my life with… so amazing. I can’t wait!” – Justine, the bride-to-be

engagement | Jonathan + Chelsea

“Chelsea and Jonathan are one of those special couples that you have a connection with from the beginning, for me it’s because I went to high school with Chelsea and all the way to Europe on a exciting class trip our Senior year! So to hear they were engaged was absolutely exciting to say the least. Chelsea knew exactly where she wanted her engagement session images to take place, some land her family owns and her Grandpa’s barn just outside Jefferson City, MO. It was the perfect setting for our sunrise engagements and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the images below! Congratulations once again Chelsea and Jonathan,  your day is going to be the absolute best!” – Catherine Rhodes Photography

“I’ve known Catherine since high school and have been following her Facebook and blog for several years. I think her photos are so beautiful and really emphasize the connection between the couple she’s working with. I was kind of nervous before the engagement session but she made it all so easy…

..I’m going to try and DIY a few things but med school will be limiting my ambitions. We will be making our invitations, programs, a flower petal aisle runner, paper flower napkin rings, wine bottle candle holder centerpieces, doily chinese lanterns, and the arch for our ceremony. My future mother-in-law is a genius when it comes to crafts and my parents are great at carpentry. I’m thankful to have a lot of great family and friends that are willing to help out…

..The wedding will be in my hometown of Jefferson City, MO at the Red Barn . When I first saw the Red Barn, I instantly fell in love. The ceremony will be outside in a grassy meadow overlooking a lake (pending the weather) with my oldest brother, Bryan, as the officiant.   I’m really looking forward to our reception because I love our theme – a simple, country wedding with lots of dancing and fun! We will have washers to play, fried chicken for dinner, and smore’s as a good night snack. Of course, the best part will be that I will finally have the man of my dreams as my official husband!” – Chelsea, the bride-to-be
