Welcome back to our Tuesday Shoesday series {one of our favorite days of the week on Merci}. We l.o.v.e. sharing wedding related accessory inspiration with our readers, and today we’re taking a cue from the Fall 2011 Marchesa runway, where models sported custom designed Christian Louboutin shoes…
Good old Loubou is no stranger to the Marchesa runway; he often custom creates a collection that marries back to each of Marchesa’s feminine frocks. This time, Christian Louboutin stepped away from his signature silhouette, adding lace applique from one of the season’s most talked about dresses {as show above on the runway and later on Rachel McAdams at Cannes}.
Here are a few other fabulous Loubous from the show… Look closely. Can you spot a trend?
Much like the Marchesa dresses, these shoes were simple in silhouette but big on embellishment. Often Louboutin didn’t even add the lace to the actual shoe design; most are applique or booties added over or under the same silhouette for a little extra umph.
Stylist note: Are you a fashionista bride on a budget? Why not add a lace anklet beneath a simply designed wedding maryjane – or bit of lace applique from your dress – for an unexpected, yet runway inspired touch?
