NYC Engagement Session | Emily + Stéphane

NYC Engagement Session | Emily + Stéphane NYC Engagement Session | Emily + Stéphane NYC Engagement Session | Emily + Stéphane NYC Engagement Session | Emily + Stéphane I’m loving this winter-in-the-city engagement session submitted by Jake Pritchard of JP Wedding Photography . Emily and Stéphane are actually getting married tomorrow {yay!} and moving to France. They came to Jake with the idea of shooting their session at the Met, {where they had their first date}, but lucked out with some amazing winter weather… and soon found themselves running around Central Park, soaking up sunshine and laughing the whole way through. Perfection!

About the photographer: Jake Pritchard lives in Brooklyn. In addition to shooting weddings for some of New York’s radest and most creative couples, he takes pictures for a variety of culture, food and dance magazines. When he’s not shooting, Jake is on a never ending quest to find a secret surf spot somewhere on Long Island.

Wedding Favor Inspiration | love is a mix tape

Wedding Favor Inspiration | love is a mix tape Green Day on Broadway? Beyonce belting out Alanis covers? Though last night’s Grammy’s tried their best to make anyone in their late twenties feel old as dirt, I’m embracing the retro vibe this Valentine’s Day. That’s right, I’m all about the throwback.

Maybe my middle school won’t be willing to send a candy-gram to my husband’s office, but this little reconstructed match box from Flight of the Parcel might just do the trick. It slides open to reveal a personalized love note and can easily be tied to a Valentine’s Day gift for added ooey-gooey impact. Ah, all the charm of a teenage love story {minus the bad hair, awkward moments and tacky clothes, of course}.

Because after all, love is a mix tape.

Orange Beautiful Invitations

How divine is this invitation suite by Laura of Orange Beautiful ? Laura designed it for her sister’s wedding at the Parker Palm Springs and wanted the suite to convey the venue’s unique design aesthetic.
Orange Beautiful Invitations Orange Beautiful Invitations “The hotel’s retro-luxe vibe {courtesy of Jonathan Adler } combines wild colors with desert-y whites and tans, layered with multiple patterns and textures,” Laura said. We’re completely over-the-moon for the chevron marbled paper and makeup-y peach tones… In fact, we want to host a little soiree just to use this suite! Party at the Merci New York studio, anyone?!

Real NYC Wedding | Barbara + Tim

When destination photographers Tag7 contacted Merci New York with Barbara and Tim’s chic city ceremony, we swooned over all the Manhattan locales, hotels and hot spots they couple swept through in a day’s time. {And then we oohed over Barbara’s beautiful wardrobe, which was pure YSL perfection}. But what impressed us most were the shots leading up to and following the ceremony. In fact, I’ve intentionally omitted many actual-ceremony shots {though you can see them here }, to showcase how important “before and after” photos are… Real NYC Wedding | Barbara + Tim Real NYC Wedding | Barbara + Tim Real NYC Wedding | Barbara + Tim Real NYC Wedding | Barbara + Tim Real NYC Wedding | Barbara + Tim Real NYC Wedding | Barbara + Tim Real NYC Wedding | Barbara + Tim Real NYC Wedding | Barbara + Tim So, tip of the day: Be sure to book your photographer several hours before your ceremony begins. Not only will it take time to warm-up to the camera, but the resulting images will be some of your most cherished… the anticipation, the excitement, the early-details. They’re priceless.

Hotel: The Gramercy Park Hotel Manhattan, NYC
Salon:
John Barrett @ Bergdorf Goodman on 5th Ave
Barbara’s shoes and clothes:
Yves Saint Laurent
Ceremony:
Central Park , Ladies Pavillion
Drinks:
The Plaza Hotel
Dinner:
BLT Prime

From the bride: While Tim and I were dating, we had to work in separate cities – I went to New York and he went to Hong Kong. So he visited often and we discovered New York City together, which made it so special. The ‘theme’ for the civil wedding weekend was to show our family ‘our New York’ – all the spots, restaurants and shops that we used to go to. We planned it on a whim. The civil wedding was supposed to be in Switzerland in August this year, just before our church wedding, but with everything set for the summer, we wanted something spontaneous and fun. We actually didn’t tell anyone but our immediate families, so it felt more special {plus it was fun to share the surprise when we got back to London}!

About the photographers:
Destination wedding photographers Andrea & Marcus of Tag7 strive to reveal the personality and dynamic behind every love story. Their style would be described best as mix of natural, photojournalistic and fashion-inspired art photography. Andrea and Marcus’ work has been featured in many international wedding media.

Bloomingdales Big Window Challenge {we vote Eddie Ross!} | Merci Nest

Bloomingdales Big Window Challenge {we vote Eddie Ross!} | Merci Nest The Big Window Challenge is on at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street store and we’re totally digging Eddie Ross’ vignette for Elle Decor {shown here}. Ross’ window space, The Modern Woman, features a fresh mix of classic and modern elements, shocks of vibrant color and pops of bold patterns meant to accentuate a “passion for sparkling evenings at home entertaining friends and family.”
Bloomingdales Big Window Challenge {we vote Eddie Ross!} | Merci Nest The Big Window Challenge is essentially a battle of the bands for interior designer big-wigs, so if you’re not smitten with Eddie Ross’s style, be sure to check out Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan and Eileen Joyce’s inspiring studio vignettes {everything showcased is available at Bloomingdale’s} and vote for your favorite here .
