Multicultural Austin Wedding at The Allan House

Multicultural Austin Wedding at The Allan House

After a purely Indian rehearsal dinner, Imtiaz and Arlem opted for an American-style wedding at The Allan House to tie the knot and celebrate with loved ones. The multicultural affair designed by Life Styled Events included traditional elements like the bride’s customary wedding henna, as well as elegant and modern Austin wedding styling like twinkle lights and a stunning Reem Acra gown. Mercedes Morgan Photography captured the gorgeous details and romantic moments that Imtiaz and Arlem will forever remember from their big day.

The Couple:

Imtiaz and Arlem

The Wedding:

The Allan House , Austin, Texas

The Inspiration:

We wanted to incorporate both cultures for our wedding. We opted for doing our rehearsal dinner Indian and the wedding itself American.

Casually Romantic Austin Wedding at Mercury Hall

Casually Romantic Austin Wedding at Mercury Hall

Lauren and Jon’s casual Austin wedding was filled with Texas Hill Country charm. The couple said “I do” beneath the large, twisting branches that have become a highlight of Mercury Hall weddings. Mercedes Morgan Photography captured every romantic detail, from Lauren’s curly up-do to the handmade crepe paper bouquets in shades of blush, coral, and fuchsia.

The Couple:

Lauren and Jon

The Wedding:

Mercury Hall , Austin, Texas

The Inspiration:

I think the unofficial theme of the wedding was casual elegance, if you can call that a theme! We were getting married at a modern venue with a bit of an Austin Hill Country vibe. It was the perfect amount of comfortable yet classic. My mom made all the wedding and ceremony flowers by hand from crepe paper; this was an incredibly meaningful and elegant touch.

The Moments:

We hired a local group called Typewriter Rodeo that types custom poems on the spot based on any prompt. The poems were uniquely personal and memorable keepsakes for my guests. I was happy that so many people mentioned how much they enjoyed the personalized poems and what a sweet idea it was.

Also, I LOVED when Jon and I got in the middle of a dance circle and tore it up to “Uptown Funk.”

The Couple Recommends:

I would certainly recommend Mercedes Morgan Photography for being so easy to work with, keeping me calm, and producing fantastic work that speaks for itself. I didn’t have to worry about them capturing the right shot, I had absolute faith.

I would also highly recommend Mandy Millican with Modern Whimsy Events. She is organized and on top of everything, not to mention she also offers a wedding day yoga package for bride and bridesmaids which was glorious and really set the calm tone for the day.

Please take a moment from your day to celebrate the beauty of love and the art of wedding photography. Enjoy!

The Couple: Christina and Donna

Southwestern Inspired Wedding at Mercury Hall

Southwestern Inspired Wedding at Mercury Hall

While backpacking through the Guadalupe Mountains with some of their best friends, Andrew got down on one knee and asked Lisa to be his adventure partner for life. Loving the outdoors, the couple wanted to incorporated a southwestern aesthetic with many floral details. Their wedding at Mercury Hall in Austin, Texas was filled with pies, succulents, chalkboard signs, and many bright colors! Documenting memories to last a lifetime, Photo by Betsy captured the sweetest first look!

The Couple:

Andrew and Lisa

The Wedding:

Mercury Hall , Austin, Texas

The Inspiration:

Andrew really wanted to go for a southwestern look and I wanted a floral look so I think that we met in the middle. The colors were so important to me, but I was also more than happy to have succulents as our centerpieces and other decor. We both find beauty in simplicity and the outdoors, and I think our wedding theme and decor reflected our love for both of those things.

The Moments:

Our first look was easily the best moment of the day. I loved getting to having some time with him before the wedding and am so thankful that it was all on camera.Andrew doesn’t cry often, but as I hugged him from behind, I could feel him crying. It is a moment that I will never forget. Betsy made it such a fun time where we just got to laugh together and be together on our wedding day. I loved being able to get the nerves and the tears out together before walking down the aisle to him.

The Couple Recommends:

Betsy went above and beyond. I think that she helped set the tone for the day and made me feel so comfortable. We walked away from that day with a new friend. We had so much fun and our wedding party also said that Betsy made taking pictures a fun experience for them as well. On top of all of that, we couldn’t be happier with our pictures! She was fantastic and I would recommend her to anyone!
