Small Manhattan appartment with laundry and reading nook

When architect Tim Seggerman was asked to renovate a college professor’s small Manhattan apartment, he took his inspiration from iconic architect and woodworker George Nakashima. The apartment certainly boasts stunning carpentry: flooring of white oak, cabinets of bamboo and cypress and an ash-and-beech staircase.

Although the apartment has a modest footprint of 240 ft2/22 m2, the architect managed to squeeze a reading nook and laundry nook into the sleeping loft.
