The South London producer known as Chords flexes his drum & bass chops on the 4x4 tip, as Peppermint Heaven’s “Decide 4 Yourself” gets an end-of-summer makeover that’s sure to be crossing all genre lines. Chords was trained in classical piano as a kid and cites the continued influence of his dad’s soul, jazz, and funk collection, alongside his own interest in hip-hop. But it wasn’t until his older brother initiated him into the garage and jungle side of things that it all came together.
Drawing upon all of these influences and more, Chords’ unique sound and vision has led to a number of collabs and remixes with everyone from Matrix to Cyantific, and most recently garnered the attention of Ram Records label boss Andy C, who snatched him up for an exclusive signing to the label that continues to showcase the artist’s ever-evolving and impressive sound.
