Months later, and everybody is still talking about Stranger Things , the Netflix fantasy-horror adventure set in the ‘80s. It included a rather evocative soundtrack—from Texan synth collective S U R V I V E —that channeled the decade’s dreamy, eerie synth soundscapes with precise perfection. With the group returning last month with a new artist album and also hitting the road in the US, they’ve allowed us a window into the modular synth goodness they use to create their music.

In a behind-the-scenes video produced by KUT FM , which operates out of the University of Texas, we meet band members Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein to have a look at some of the vintage synthesisers used to produce the soundtrack, as well as to delve into how they take this into the live setting.
