Call it chance, call it fate – Heidi and Jay first met as recruiters at a college fair. As luck would have it, each represented a school that started with ‘S’ and were seated next to each other. They talked throughout the event…and just never stopped. While both recruiting in California, they stole a weekend in Napa to unwind and enjoy the numerous vineyards the area has to offer. It was one evening after a private vineyard tour and wine tasting that Heidi lost track of Jay and, instead, found the first clue to a clever scavenger hunt. With the help of the hotel staff, Heidi made her way through the clues to find her partner in the vineyard, down on one knee with his grandmother’s ring in hand.
If there’s one thing Heidi and Jay want to share with other couples planning their wedding, it’s to have a first look. “Just do it, we got to enjoy and soak up this special moment that was ours, rather than ‘performing’ in front of family and friends.”
