Your Jaw is Going to Drop When You See This Gorgeous Tuscany Elopement

There are endless reasons to love destination elopements, but one of our favorites is that each newlywed couple has an air of serenity from the peacefulness of being alone with their partner. Tanya and Ryan’s Tuscany elopement perfectly channels this serenity and results in one of the most effortlessly romantic elopements we’ve seen! Imagined by Tanya and Ryan and planned by Weddings in Tuscany , the couple’s perfect day started with an emotional first look and followed up with a low-key town hall ceremony and a sweet dinner-for-two under the Tuscany stars. Destination photographer Francesco Spighi captured the couple’s gorgeous day in a series of breathtakingly beautiful portraits and candid moments.

When reflecting back to our wedding day, the most prominent memory we have is the overwhelming happiness we both felt throughout the entire process. We followed our hearts to get married in Italy and it was so exciting to see our vision unfold throughout the day in such an enchanting setting. The entire day felt truly magical.

When planning our wedding, it was important for us to remember the romance and joy inherent in making this commitment to each other. It is easy to get lost in the stress and details of the day, but we made extra efforts to ensure it remained an experience rooted in happiness and love.

We decided to set aside additional time during the ceremony to recite individual and shared vows to one another. It was a personal touch that added a lot of intimacy our ceremony.

We have no regrets with our elopement, and we attribute that to our careful and considerate planning. We thought it best to inform our closest loved ones about our decision and reasons. Their support made all the difference and allowed us to have the biggest romantic thrill of our lives!

Our photographer Francesco Spighi was a true professional. His enthusiasm and passion were evident from the minute we met. We were so grateful for his direction throughout the day, we could not be happier with the finished product.

Stunning Tuscan Villa Destination Wedding from Italian Wedding Photography By Jules – Lauren and Michael

Lauren and Michael’s gorgeous destination wedding took place at the magnificent Villa Petrolo in Tuscany, Italy. The couple decided to let the natural beauty of the Tuscan countryside shine on their special day by celebrating the location’s soft golden landscape. Exemplifying the pure romance of Italy, the celebration was beautifully captured by Italian wedding photographer Jules Bower .

The Goals: While traveling in Europe years earlier, I found Italy to be one of the most beautiful, romantic places on earth, and I knew that I would someday return. When we decided to consider a destination wedding, my first thought was, “how about Italy?” Mike was thrilled with the idea of a Tuscan destination…so that started the search, and everything fell into place perfectly from there. Villa Petrolo was one of the first villas we came across, and its understated elegance sealed the deal. It only took a week or two before we knew that Italy was THE place, and we never looked back!

The Design: We wanted to create an intimate and romantic atmosphere, allowing the gorgeous Tuscan backdrop to speak for itself. Relaxed, authentic Tuscan countryside – no grandiose decor that would take away from the natural setting. We chose to incorporate olive branches and various white florals as centerpieces and ceremony decor. My aunt, an artist, hand-painted our menus with olive leaves and they were absolutely stunning and so special. We had olive oil double as seating cards and favors, to go with the menus at each place setting.

The Look: Working in the fashion industry, I always thought I would choose a more avant garde bridal look. However, after a few fun dress outings with friends, my sister and mother, I fell in love with the look of vintage lace and pleating for my Tuscan countryside wedding. I had the drape off the shoulders added, to soften the look. My favorite accessories were white Valentino studded heels for my “something new” and for my “something old”, the engraved locket with my grandparents’ photo that was draped on my bouquet. It belonged to my grandmother and was a gift to her from her parents on her 16th birthday.

The Moments: I had so many favorite moments of the day, it is hard to pick one! I teared up with joy and appreciation so many times as I looked around at my friends and family. I remember after our ceremony, walking out on the veranda and wanting to pinch myself. I thought, “This could not possibly be real!”

Later, holding hands with my new husband and running around the vineyards and olive groves with our photographer Jules Bower was magical. There was a kind of romantic frenzy about those moments, and it was so much fun! Our photographer was very talented, capturing the day exactly as it was – a dream!

The Advice: I would advise any couple to do what is right for them. There are so many opinions and expectations for weddings. Choosing something that makes the most sense for you, as a couple, is very liberating and you will never regret. I have been in a lot of weddings, and the most special ones, big or small, are the weddings that the most genuinely happy people on that day are the bride and groom!

Between a stunning Sottero and Midgley gown, modern twists on soft pink décor, and touching ways to honor their family, Holly and Caleb’s wedding brought both glitz and classic romance to the Powel Crosley Estate ! Their waterfront Florida mansion venue offered Mediterranean revival style to the couple’s timelessly beautiful event. Photographer Benjamin Hewitt perfectly captured every inch of this wedding and even saved the couple’s grand exit from a potential setback!

I have a lot of favorite photos from that day but there’s one photo of my mom and I together that makes my heart feel so full every time I look at it. It was taken right before the ceremony. I’m actually holding the shoes that she had worn on her wedding day. I love my momma to pieces and the fact that I was able to wear the shoes that she had originally worn on her wedding day made it all the more special to me.

In the middle of the ceremony Caleb‘s oldest brother, Josh actually sang Even So Come by Kristian Stanfill as our parents prayed around us right before we became husband and wife. It was such a special moment having our parents pray for the future of our marriage.

Don’t compare your wedding to Pinterest weddings. I did that half the time I was planning my wedding and all it does is take out all the joy you could be focusing on. A wedding isn’t just meant to impress your friends and family, a wedding should simply be all about having your family and friends gather together to celebrate two people that want to spend the rest of their live’s loving one other.

For me, I really cared about having a lot of flowers and really making the whole place come alive with little, unique touches. For example, I wrote out all the name cards in calligraphy for the seating (even though I left half of the cards at home so my bridesmaids actually had to rewrite the rest out 45 minutes before the ceremony), drew some designs for the favor tables.

Caleb really thought it was important that the food tasted really good. There have been so many times when we went to weddings with just okay-ish food. I feel like food is something guests typically remember, so we wanted to make sure that our guests remembered that everything tasted delicious!

Caleb‘s brother Kris actually made honeycomb shelves for the favor table to go with the honey jars that we had used as wedding favors. Those little things stand out so much to me whenever I go to weddings and see the handmade touches.

Probably our exit was the most memorable part of the day! We had originally planned for our DJ to play our exit song but we had gone over our time limit for the night and he was already packing up. After that we really didn’t have a clue what to do until Ben Hewitt, our photographer, asked us what song we had wanted to play. We told him the name of the song ( Wake Up by Arcade Fire ) and he quickly looked it up and blasted the song from his portable bluetooth speaker. Hand in hand, Caleb and I ran to our favorite song as all our friends and family waited for us, flashing the lights of their phones and cheering together. I guess we could say that Ben really saved our exit! Now when we both look back on our exit that night, we wouldn’t have wanted it to go any other way!
